15 years ago today, Oregon State was 12-7, having already dropped series to Pepperdine and USC. The Beavers also had lost to Gonzaga at Surprise Stadium, California-Davis and New Mexico. Through the first 19 games, 2021 Oregon State has scored 8 more runs and allowed 21 fewer runs than 2006 Oregon State. After 19 games in 2006, Oregon State was 12-7. The Beavers then went 38-9over the final 48, including going 22-4 over the next 26, to win a National Championship. The 2021 Beavers took a big step in rebounding to win tonight by nine.

I think the difference is, we had some legit big league hitters in the past, and some guys who really stepped up in the big moments. I don't wanna take too much from the comebacks we've seen from this group, cuz they have had some.....they are a gritty ballclub......they just don't feel like an Omaha club to me, at this point.
First of all, Abel will need to dial it in..
Second, we will need the ability to manufacture runs against good pitching.....our bats completely disappear at times.....we need to be able to hit good pitching....we need to be able to bunt successfully.....we need competitive AB's.
The pitching depth might be the best we've ever had though.....but without Abel holding down Friday night, it's not near the advantage.
