I really think this season is completely different if Drew was healthy:
We win the wazzu series with Drew pitching Friday = +1 win
We win the first game against AZ (and perhaps the series) with Drew pitching Friday = +1 win
We win the ecc series with Drew pitching Friday = +1 win
We sweep the USC series if Drew pitches Friday = +1 win
Result: That would put Drew at 8-1 right now and puts us in 1st going into this weekend with a 19-11 record…
Total speculation - perhaps I needed to review this to make me feel better about the season...

If "if's" and "buts" were candy and nuts, then every day would be Christmas.
Nice to speculate and you're probably right that we'd have a few more in the "W" column, but, it is what it is. It's baseball. It happens. Let's sweep the Bruins this weekend and make no doubt that the Beavs deserve to be in the tourney!

I agree, the loss of Rasmussen is huge. D1baseball.com says the Pac-12 is down this year, injuries or no injuries. Maybe, maybe not. We all know the SEC rules the college sports world, especially baseball. And this is supposed to be the ACC's year. Yeah, right. I'll believe it when they punch their ticket in Omaha. Until then, I think it is foolish to discount the quality of the Pac-12.

At least three more wins. Drew also helped, because he tended to reduce the need for tiring out the bullpen. Plus, every other pitcher had to work less. Four more wins would be huge. Right now, we need a sweep to get in. Four more wins, and Oregon State is still ranked, we are all probably talking about hosting. Four more wins, though, would give us a record of 16-11 and tiebreakers against Utah and Washington. Oh well.

The Tournament will decide, if they have better teams. The ACC has had two years, 1955 and 2015. Next championship in 2075.

Until then, I think it is foolish to discount the quality of the Pac-12. You can use whatever excuse you'd like... east coast bias who cares. But, unless you think the NCAA is running rampant to serve at the whim of the SEC or who ever, they are the class of college baseba11 this year. People are talking 7,8,9 bids 4 hosts, etc. It's "CONFERENCES" not championships or Omaha were talking. There is no discounting going on, it's a down year. There is no way the Pac 12 can hold a candle to the top 2 conferences this season. Win the series and a mid 90s rpi(#110 or so now) Utah wins the league, but won't host. Name a Pac12 team that any top tier team would fear in a 2 of 3? Hell most have the Pac12 the 4th rated conference lucky to get 5 seeds, maybe not a hosting spot! This is followed by the Pac 12's outstanding postseason of 2015. The league is down, it happens. It's sour grapes to say different just because other leagues are on an up tick and continually are praised, deservedly so or not. The Pac 12 being so down is what makes our performance all the more disappointing. This is a year that a younger/inexperienced team could sneak out a conference title.
