Zags go down to Belmont - another 12 beating 5. Belmont's offense has some similar looks to ours, and the zags had no answers.

Zags played sloppy on both ends. I was rooting hard for Gonzaga and their Oregon native, Cierra Walker. A year full of upsets! Bummer for some, incredible for others.

Good to see some upsets in Day 2 - that's how interest in the Women's tournament gets expanded - more teams having success. The top 4 seeds in each region normally host and play 2 games at home. Much harder for the lower seeded teams to get the upsets, I would think. This is why I don't mind (as much) being under-seeded this year. No home court advantage for the top seed. In theory, OSU should have just as many fans in the stands...or close to it...as S Carolina. That is a HUGE difference from the regular Women's NCAA and why we have a better than usual chance of upending the top seed. They (S Carolina and all top seeds) really lose that normal advantage they have. Imagine being S Carolina and seeing the #8 Beavers in round 2...on a neutral court not at home. If the roles were reversed, we would be a little more than miffed. Go Beavs! |

I will. I don’t like Mike Neighbors. Can I ask why? Seems like an easily likable guy. Has the "aw shucks" demeanor, funny guy, self deprecating sense of humor. Mike Neighbors earned my respect when a few years ago, while at uw, Katie Collier was diagnosed with leukemia. Neighbors ask her if he could do anything for her before she under goes treatment. Since it was unknown if she would survive let alone play basketball again, she asked to shoot baskets. So Mike opened the gym for her and sat in the stands while she shot around. Since it was the wrong time of the year for coaches to be present during practices and the powers to be deemed that must by being present Neighbors was breaking the rules. There was so much backlash that they decided to drop it. At least that is what was reported. But personally I've never really cared for the pigs |

Zags looked really bad, like they weren't prepared. Veteran team, they should not have gone down like that. Fortier got them to the Sweet 16 her first year, since then they have only 1 Tourney win in 4 appearances. Something isn't working in her approach to Tourney games. I saw them in person in '17 in Seattle. Like today they looked fairly lackluster. Their only win in that period was against an absolutely terrible Little Rock team that was way, way overseeded as a #12.

Troy got hosed on what should've been an and-1 for the lead, called a charge. Just terrible and decided the game.

They just got hosed again! A&M committed a clear over and back violation, and the refs missed it!

UCLA and Oregon are cruising in their games tonight. Wazzu ruined a perfect opening round for the Pac 12.
Some of the offensively challenged teams aren't having as much trouble scoring against non Pac 12 teams it looks like.

Uconn & Iowa at 10 am pacific should be a hot game ,go IOWA !! overlaps with OSU MBB game though.
Arizona at 5 pm is the only WBB game , Pac-12 , saturday.
