Maybe I missed something but I don’t see any “hate” being expressed toward Destiny in any of the posts above in this thread. In my post I state that her move worked out fine for both teams. That’s surely not “hate”. I took the first post as a hit toward Destiny. Cheering against her team is a "hit"? Interesting. After seeing her today, I think many of us are very satisfied with the outcome of her decision.

Destiny gave it her all while she was here. She decided she would be better off somewhere else during the off season and I think she probably chose correctly. The only problem was that that left OSU short in the PG department, but now that Talia's here we are doing just fine. Personally I just miss seeing her doing her thing for OSU, she was always fun to watch!

Good to see some upsets in Day 2 - that's how interest in the Women's tournament gets expanded - more teams having success.

Destiny was clutch, took a critical charge and had two assists in the final 2 mins, but they just didn't get it done. She was 1-8 though on the day, 0-4 from the 3. For that offense to score only 62 points on Wright State is pretty pathetic; I don't know why Neighbors gets talent there, he doesn't seem to bother coaching them.

Since you would have cared less about Arkansas except she went there then yes its a hit against her. A bold assumption to say the least. Some of us aren't Neighbors fans here either, so I guess it's a hit on him too. Oh well. Hope they enjoy watching the second round.

Yeah, no, which pretty much matches her play here.

I have no opinion on this, but an interesting tweet:

I have no opinion on this, but an interesting tweet: I can agree with that. No great post play or true post presence on their roster and they don't play great defense. You have to win six games to win the NCAA championship. The chances of not having an off day is slim, and that is dangerous for a team that relies heavily on guards scoring. Look at the past NCAA champions - Baylor (Brown and Cox), Notre Dame (Shepard and Turner), South Carolina (Wilson). All had big time post players. Even Mississippi State as the runner up those two years with McCowan. Hard to win championships playing small ball.

While I don't have any personal issues with Destiny moving on, particularly given how it turned out, I do enjoy that her new team - that was supposed to be elite - flamed out way ahead of OSU. It sends a message that deep tourney runs are tough, and OSU is about as good a spot as any to do that. Given the level of talent coming in to OSU, we could start having more transfer risks related to playing time before long, and it seems like the outcome of Destiny's decision (at least in terms of postseason) serves as a pretty good warning about such moves.

Indiana held VCU to 32 points?! 3 points in the 4th. Ouch. Well, that's 32 more than the VCU men got to score in the tournament.

I'm not particularly concerned with the transfer due to lack of playing time issue. I think coaches of schools with great talent and depth all tell recruits that, while they can compete for a starting position from day one, the actuality is that most have to wait their turn. And I'm sure they point to great success that came to those who did so, like Marie and Aleah. With respect to OSU, they seem to be generally pretty good at staggering positions in incoming classes. Taylor and Kennedy, for example, will be juniors when Raegan and Timea show up, and both obviously knew that when they committed. Adlee knew that Sasha, Greta, Talia, et al were going to be here. I don't think Scott generally recruits players who think the offense should run through them from day one.

Who's not going to get PT? Noelle? Next year might be a bit of a log jam, depending on what Ellie and Aleah do, but after that we're only at 12 on the roster, including Noelle and Andrea, plus possibly Taya and Jas. Get an injury or two and we'll be complaining about being shorthanded. As always, Raoul has factoids you are looking for: wbbblog.com/oregon-state-womens-basketball-recruiting/

Good to see some upsets in Day 2 - that's how interest in the Women's tournament gets expanded - more teams having success. The top 4 seeds in each region normally host and play 2 games at home. Much harder for the lower seeded teams to get the upsets, I would think.
