Some sites have the kid up to 6' 2". He looks big and looks to have a strong Arm. 2nd Base? All for the kid in the lineup, he swings the bat. What about Gretler at 2nd and Milton on First? Armstrong is ++SS but we have had some trouble at 2nd and turning DPs. Any chance Forrester is fast enough to play LF?
Just thinking.......

But then again, he hasn’t really had much playing time. And yeah, he didn’t get the double play, but he’s still young. We need as many bats in the lineup as possible and he did just fine at second otherwise.

His bat needs to be in the lineup....DH maybe....that error was bad, but he's young and he seems like a good all around ball player

Is it a question of what to do with Garrett, or is the question what can you do with Garrett? You are trying to work a good bat into a fairly established lineup. DH is the obvious answer for now, but that may not offer the best solution to increasing your bat power in the current lineup. If you can replace a slumping hitter with Garrett, then DH your nextbest hitter off the bench, you have bumped your plate power two fold.
The scouting reports on Garrett are not complicated. Scouts project him as a corner infielder, period. No discussion cocerning a move to middle infield or outfield. Several scouts discussed an easy conversion to 1B. "Donkey", his nickname since youth baseball 10 years ago, has two + tools. The "hit tool" and the throwing arm. Average by MLB standards, glove but a powerful throwing arm. He projects to hit for average, and hit with power. Garrett left the yard 15 times at Bella Vista HS in Fair Oaks, CA.
Forrester has "country boy strength" at 6-1 and 215+ Has a quick bat with powerful hands whipping the bat through the zone and extending the path. A focused hitter with good pitch recognition and reaction. Has a sound approach at the pate and adjusts well. Aggressive hitter with discipline/patience at the same time - does't chase bad balls. A concern: starts with low hands. working up to initiate the stroke - can he handle high (95+mph) velo) with a slight hitch at the trigger point? Not fleet on the bases but won't clog them up eiher.
Bottom line: He's OSU's future 3B or 1B guy. A natural MLB corner infielder that poles 30 home runs a yeaR.

Thanks for the summary. I noted his Arm and he seems rather out place at 2nd. Sure like the kid at the plate.

Hmmm not sure if he has the glove for third base..... first base is probably his best option

The scouting grades on his fielding are "Average". That's not HS or college level average, that's "MLB Average". A more than adequate glove at 3B and I would assume, at 1B for D1 college baseball. Think of it this way, Garrett isn't at Oregon State because he's the next Brooks Robinson. Garrett is at Oregon State because he's the next Mike Schmidt.

Hmmm possibly but I just don’t see him as having quickness laterally with his size. Granted it was the first time I watched him at second but that error on a routine grounder was pretty bad especially with bases loaded....instead of having two outs and limiting damage....it lead to two-three runs

Now if he plays there and those types of errors keep occuring, it is time for him to try first base. But we've all let one go right between the wickets at least once. But we have been a bit spoiled on the infield. Can remember back in 2015 or so, we recruited 4 Pac-12 caliber shortstops. One ended up at 3rd, one at short, one on 2nd. That fourth guy, Bryce somebody, got stuck in the bullpen.

But I don't like the idea of pulling a guy simply because he goofed once. Give the kid a chance to get comfortable at second.
I can't see pulling Dukart out of third. And even though Ober hasn't been productive at the plate, he really has the potential to be so. My theory is that as the rest of the lineup starts hitting Ober will be more productive. And having "Donkey" in the batting order will help get things flowing.
chinmusic, how do you find these things out? Is it in the press release? "Donkey"! What a great nickname!
