You may recall we played SC and beat them in a preseason tournament in Vancouver BC in early December 2019. Some of the girls on each side have played against eachother.

Has anyone seen anything about Andrea? Haven't seen her in any of the pics in Texas.

Yes we beat SC 70-68 in that tournament, and then the next day in the tournament finals we gave #1 Notre Dame all they could handle leading them for most of the game and by as many as 14 pts. before running out of gas in the last 5 min. and losing by 10, so lookout #6 SC.....ranking does not phase us!

I see South Carolina's small, quick guards (Cooke, Henderson, Littleton) putting a lot of ball pressure on Aleah, et al. trying to cause turnovers and/or disrupt the flow of OSU's offense. South Carlolina wins most games this way as opposed to running set offensive schemes. This is going to a very difficult game, but hey, maybe the Beavs can squeek this one out.

South C. is all about the rebounding. If they are allowed to dominate the rebounding they win, if you don't let them dominate then they pretty much lose. As you can tell from the win % they tend to dominate the rebounding.

Biggest matchup is Jones vs Boston. Boston for SC had 23 points and 18 rebounds yesterday. Taylor needs to hold her own and stay out of foul trouble. I’ve wanted to see this match up for awhile so I’m excited.

This is where playing in a conference with teams like UCLA, Stanford and ASU should pay dividends.Teams have been trying to get the ball out of Aleah’s hands all year. It will be fun to watch - I’m sure they will have a better plan than FSU did.

The key to defeating South Carolina is making them play through their guards and keeping the ball out of Boston's hands. Boston is like a Nyara Sabally 2.0 type player. Their leading scorer, Zia Cooke, is a streaky scorer somewhat similar to Charisma Osborne. She only shoots 38.3% from the field and can get trigger happy at times which is what teams want. If we can keep the ball out of Boston's hands, rebound well, and hit our shots I think we have a chance. It's a game of contrasting styles.

If I'm SC, or anybody else we play at this point, you have to believe that after watching last night's performance, their key will be to keep the ball out of Aleah's hands as much as possible, and if you can't keep the ball from her, you pressure her with more than one person. Hopefully, if that is their strategy, the Beavs will kill them with backdoor cuts, and getting the ball into Talia's hands. The Beavs don't have a lot of great ball handlers otherwise, although Ellie is pretty decent. I absolutely love Sasha's game, but if the ball is in her hands, she's going to make mistakes. Jasmine isn't bad either, but she seems to be no scoring threat at all as the season has progressed.

Taylor is going to have to put in a lot of foul free minutes , while going off on both offense and defense !
