Swinging bunt single by Preston Jones to start the game. Steal second and small ball bunt to move him to third. Great idea, get a run and put the Cougs in an early deficient. What happens, a called third strike and a swinging struck out by Dukart. Put the ball in play and score the opening run. Seems like we are always behind in the count.

Casey up. (Pitching change.) Puts down a textbook bunt and beats it out. Runners on 1st and 2nd.
Armstrong up. Hits into a double play. Ober moves to 3rd. [bring him home!]
Kasper steps in. Draws a walk. Runners at the corners.
KMac up. Wild pitch. Ober scores. Kasper moves to 2nd. Another wild pitch and Kasper moves to 3rd. And KMac walks.
P. Jones at bat. KMac steals second. Base hit to center. Both runners score. 3-0 Beavs.
C. Hamilton at bat. Jones steals second. Flies out to shallow left.

Those early runs just are so great for Beaver pitchers. Every pitch still matters, but trying to be perfect every pitch is a killer.
