Pfennigs gets the ball for Sunday's series wrap up. Verberg and Mulholland stand ready to drop the hammer at closing time. The question concerns the middle men - who and for how long?
Can we assume Burns and Frisch would get the call for the mid-week pair with Santa Clara on Tuesday and Wednesday? That might leave only Watkins or Salgado for some middle inning relief work on Sunday.
Could we use Frisch on Sunday and start Washburn on Wednesday against SC? Washburn's impressive development is evident and he might be ready to take the ball and pitch extended innings.
Many possibilities but with mid-week consideration.

Play to develop on Tues and Wed. We have a surprising number of pitchers on the roster whom we haven’t seen yet. Freshmen. They might get some playing time on Tuesday and Wednesday. Could be fun to watch. Or misery.

I wouldn't mind Washburn getting a midweek start. Lots of competition in the bullpen to get a chance in a live game though. He pitched very well yesterday and looks like a starter down the road.

My guess is we see Frisch Tuesday and Washburn Wednesday for those 2 starts. We also have Watkins fresh and available for today and I believe Townsend is back and ready to go

Burns only pitched a third of an inning on Friday, so he ought to be ready to pitch a longer stint today or Tues/Wed. He started 4 games last year, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start Tuesday’s game.

Selgado looks like he could go multiple innings too.

So after today's game, the question is more interesting. Who do you start on Tuesday/Wednesday?
We haven't seen Townsend (soph) since Gonzaga when he pitched 3 innings. (ERA 0.00) Sebby didn't pitch much yesterday and until then he was rocking. Frisch might be ready to pitch. He pitched 3 innings on Friday. Washburn pitched 3 yesterday.

I'm not sure it matters who starts. I would expect just about everyone to get an inning or two over the two days and would be surprised if anyone gets more than 3 innings of work.

Sebby left yesterday's game after the trainer came out with Mitch so he might have an injury issue that will keep him off the mound. Hopefully it wasn't a serious issue. Pfennigs left today after only roughly 50 pitches and 3 innings so he might have some injury issue also. If that's the case and he misses time then we might have to think that they would save either Frisch or Washburn to fill that weekend starter spot? Lots of unknowns
