Just curious should ruecks salary be increased to match tinkles? Should ticket prices for women's basketball be increased to match the men's ticket prices to help pay the bill? To make everything "equal" it cost money who is going to pay for it?

To make everything "equal" it cost money who is going to pay for it? Explain to all of us why you don’t want to treat the women’s programs the same as the men’s? Why do the women playing in the NCAA tournament, including we assume, your favorite team/school, deserve to be treated as second class?

To make everything "equal" it cost money who is going to pay for it? Salaries and ticket prices are the economic aspect of it, the dollars and cents. Scholarships are also dollars and cents things, and colleges and universities don't treat men and women differently there. Men don't get scholarships valued at X and women 2/3X because men bring in more revenue. I'm not aware either of significant differences in travel arrangements and accommodations either - the UCLA women don't ride the Greyhound when they come to Corvallis. It would seem to me that the weight room thing is probably incompetence on the part of some staffer (a senior one, to be sure), but is not a deliberate action on the NCAA's part. The covid testing difference to which Tara has referred, however, is a much more serious matter, and the one that should be most vigorously pursued. I would not want to see it overshadowed by the weight room (or lack of same) controversy, which pales in comparison. To not provide equal protective measures is really just unthinkable, or it should be. One other thing - the poster who shot down the argument that the NCAA was rushed in putting everything together was spot on. The NCAA has known for months that they were doing the whole thing in San Antonio, and they had more than ample time to do the entire thing right, not just most of it.

But they dumped 90% of their effort into the men's side because that pays the bills. The B team got the job öf organizing Texas, and as we've seen lately, organizing anything in Texas has been a chore.

There must be some organizational skills floating around down there in red state Texas or their economy wouldn't be so much better than here in blue state Oregon. You are probably right, however, that the NCAA sent the B team to San Antonio, and gave them a lesser budget than they gave the A team in Indianapolis.

Please take your “Blue State/Red State” axe-grinding to The Rotating Tap. It doesn’t belong on the WBB board. Thank you in advance.

You know the men's basketball makes a lot more money then women's. If a salesman makes more sales than the saleswoman do you give them both the same comission? You do if there is a law saying they get equal commissions.

By that logic, old people and tdisabled shouldn't be immunized because our lives aren't as productive as young walkies. That's a slippery slope most of us wouldn't take. There is value to women's sports that can't be evaluated in dollars and cents. Studies have demonstrated that girls who play sports are less likely to get involved with drugs and/or get pregant as teens.
