Yeah he was a special player for the Beavs and Red Sox. I remember watching him steal home plate for the Red Sox. He got robbed of MVP when they gave it to a friggin pitcher (Verlander I think).....so Ellsbury played in 90 plus games and they give it to a pitcher that plays in 20.

Great story! He caught a deer! That's nuts Yeah. From what I remember of the story, his brother bet him he couldn’t do it. He then ran after the deer and smacked it on the rear. I think about this story every time I’m out on a hunt. That is crazy freakin’ fast.

"Robbed" yes, but it wasn't the sportswriters (voters) that are to blame...it was the Team as a whole, that with few exceptions, (Jacoby being a primary exception) collapsed in Sept. 2011 (going 7-20) losing all of what was at one time a 9-game lead. Had they finished 1st, it quite possibly would have meant Ellsbury gets the MVP. Of course the collapse is often attributed to such things as beer and fried chicken in the clubhouse during games...especially Josh Beckett - or so the legend goes.

And I think the Red Sox lost on the last day of the season & really late in the game. If they pull that out I think Jacoby gets the MVP
