So why the big delay since the end of the conference tournaments to selection day? Men's tourney does the selection on the same day as some conference tournaments... There where either 3 or 4 conference tournaments on the women's side that just finished yesterday, so it's only a one day delay there. The selection show has always been on Monday to not compete with the announcement of the Men's bracket. If you are are asking why the delay since the end of the Pac-12 tournament, that is simply a Pac-12 choice to have the tournament the week before to also not compete with the Men's tournament. Most of the other P5 leagues do the same.

IIRC it used to be on the same day as the men's selection. They moved it by one day so that it could get a little bit more attention.

I hope we stay west and play Gonzaga again.they look pretty tough. Good first game for Beavs as any.

Another question would be: Why does the PAC-12 Tournament end a week ahead of most all others and Selection Day?
I think it is because the powers that be want our teams more fresh, rested and healed up. But if that were the case why doesn't MBB do it too?

It's not a rest issue, it's simply splitting the Men's and Women's conference tournament. All of the major conference women's tournaments are the week prior expect for the Big-12. I'd argue it's more of a hinderance than a help. Basketball players don't like to go that long between games. 14+ days is a very long break.

I'm concerned the long layoff will disrupt the momentum the Beavers were carrying into the Pac12 Tournament.

#8 seed. FSU was pretty meh this year, but I don't love a 2nd round matchup against #1 South Carolina. They aren't as good as last year, but I'm still smarting over back to back Tourney thrashings by Louisville. I kinda see the same kind of thing here, athletic team that can force turnovers and get out in transition. Their half court offense isn't great if the Beavs can keep them from running.

Really wish we could have avoided Stanford...and S Carolina as #1's

The fact that we went from most likely out to an 8 seed in a very short time is impressive.
Beat fsu and then worry about the second game.
