Part of my happiness for this win tonight is to see Tinkle get some success. He's been a generally good man for OSU as well as a coach. His players graduate. He seems to be a decent person. He got us to the only NCAA tournament in nearly 30 years. I've been hoping to see more success from Tinkle but admit I have for the past year or more been siding with the people who thought it was time to end his tenure at OSU.
But who wants to go through the rigmarole and expense of yet another fired coach and coaching search? Tinkle is a man who can make the program proud if he could just get more wins.
And now we're going to the NCAAs go again. I really like the team this year, the whole team. Eight dudes have made solid, assisting-in-the-win contributions this year. When was the last time that OSU had that kind of depth? This is the last year of the coaches' sons and the loss of the last of them is not nearly so terrifying for next year as OSU has enough contributors coming back next year to fill a lot of gaps. I'm happy that a guy like Tinkle will get more time at OSU if he wants it and I'm hoping that OSU doesn't have to go for another coaching search after this season.

He is the type of guy you want being the coach for you school. He has recruited good players, there have been basically no drama, no scandals nothing. He runs a good program. Just just hasn't stepped it up past average. I hope this is one of those momements that helps you finally break through and take the next step.

You see him all over town talking to people and he’s very supportive of other Beaver sports and attends a lot of them in person. You never saw Robinson do that. He really enjoys Corvallis and I’m hopeful he can continue to have success here.

Well, isn't it interesting that when recruiting sees an uptick, the team's success undergoes an upturn accordingly. Wonder what the common denominator is??
