Lost two NBA quality players, picked last in the Pac-12
16-12 (for now) and in the championship game. .500 in the pac in the regular season, 5th place. Doing all with one preseason all Pac quality player in the eyes of coaches and media and a cast of unknowns.
now we have some very exciting ball handlers and a posterizing big for the next couple years.
Lets win this thing and give the team the extended season it deserves!

He'll probably be getting some job interest from other schools. Could be an interesting off season.

Other schools might try to lure Marlon Stewart away after this season. He is a good recruiter and got Alitishe to Corvallis.
Got to keep him around.
I would be surprised if WT leaves but then I thought Riley wasn't going anywhere else, either.

Real happy with his success this year! Loved what he did his first two years with the program, but after that, things fell apart. I think we'll have him back for another year or two, but if the Beavs perform well again next year, we'll see.
Of course, what happens tonight could change all of that. Go Beavs!

I wouldn't blame Wayne if a good school offered him good money to leave. Just like Riley, he's had to deal with being the best long term coach the school has had in decades and having vocal fans calling for his head.
Who knows, maybe Arizona will want to go clean and get a coach that is proven to do more with less?

Nor or expected to put the athletic department on his back, get his budget cut to fund other programs and expected to keep on bringing home bowl bids at the same time... |

Related fun fact: not only did his Pac-12 tournament run get OSU back to the NCAAs... it put Tinkle over .500 in his OSU career in total wins. 110-108.
The sad part? first coach to have a career .500+ record at OSU since Miller left.

LOL. Arizona is not going to be hiring Wayne Tinkle. Arizona's not going to be firing Sean Miller either. Arizona is one of the easiest places to coach west of Kansas, and he went 17-14 this year. The FBI thing is and has been a huge distraction. And Sean Miller only has one year left on his contract. The Board of Regents has had several cloak and dagger sessions this season already to try and figure out whether to extend or fire Miller. I think it is ultimately going to come down to whether and how bad Arizona gets hit by the FBI and NCAA. And whether firing Miller will help with either or both. If they are going to get buried, Miller is not going to want to stay there anyway. The other thing to remember is that Arizona thinks of itself as basketball's version of Alabama. If Saban was going 7-6 year-in and year-out with an FBI investigation and looming sanctions, his seat would be similarly hot. |
