We need to start having more than just 12 on our roster. I've changed my strategy to "overbooking" and carrying the maximum number of 15 scholarships. I don't believe the "transfer portal" is your best recruiting ground.

As if Sasha is "searching the country" for a school to attend?

It seems as if those who make the decisions about revisions in the transfer protocols have forgotten that there were very valid reasons for the limitations being put into place initially.

Some players who could potentially help or may be of interest next season, hopefully list will get longer: - Eva Hogdson, 5-9 RS SO guard, William and Mary, 20.7 PPG (54 FG%, 43 3FG%, 91 FT%) and 3.6 APG. A lower level but still good scoring and efficiency. Seems to be exactly what we need, but unlikely given the distance. - Tameiya Sadler, 5-8 FR combo-guard, Washington, 10.4 PPG (43.4 FG%, 45.2 3FG%, 80 FT%) and 2.4 APG. Showed some promise despite injuries and was a bright spot for a lower level PAC-12 team. - Emily Lytle, 5-11 SO guard, Liberty, 14.7 PPG (50.2 FG%, 39.1 3FG%, 86.5 FT%) and 5.0 RPG. Had 10 points and 10 rebounds against OSU in 19-20. - Lexi Gordon, 5-11 SR guard, Texas Tech, 15.7 PPG (37 FG%, 30 3FG%, 80 FT%) and 2.9 APG. I believe her sister played AAU with Jones. Is transferring after deciding to try out the new Texas Tech coach. As a side note, it will be interesting to see what Txell Alarcon decides to do. She had similar stats to Pivec while they played on the same team. Hopefully she would at the very least be able to provide some scoring if she did choose OSU. Nice list, and I'm sure it is growing. I haven't watched Maddi Utti play so I'm not sure about her style of play. Her stats are Mik like, good FG%, very good rebounder, occasional 3pt shot. From the players Beaver coaches are following on social media, they definitely seem to want to bolster the guard position, which we all understand. Thanks for the info.

It appears that with the new rules, every student athlete has the potential of being a free agent now. I'm not sure this will work out well into the future. As of today (4/1/2021) there are 739 women in the NCAA D-1 transfer portal (fall 2020-summer 2021), with 277 schools having at least 1 transfer so far. Starting to look more and more like professional sports rather than collegiate sports. Even in professional sports, athletes need to meet a minimum contractual commitment before they become free agents.

I see that Destiny Salary has now entered the portal. She's a player the Beavs mildly showed interest in out of High School. She didn't really play a lot as a Freshman at Tennessee, so there isn't a lot of college play to judge her on. I'm doubting the Beavs show a ton of interest this time around either, but someone to keep an eye on anyway. Since this thread is so long it may be nice to start a new thread of potential interest players, but I'll leave that to beaverwbb.

With at last count 739 women on the transfer portal that equivalent to about 60 teams or about 22% of the D1 teams. I don't think its good for any sport, business, etc.. to have that much uncertainty.

The portal's a pretty busy place, but IMO it is going to end up being a "grass is always greener on the other side" situation for most of those who chose to enter it. For the top 10% of players and the grad student elligibles, it will work, but if you are an average player you could be working hard to find a top flight team to take you, and you've always been able to drop down to a lower division without having to sit out a year anyway, so Covid chaos ending, the portals will be much less crowded.
I wish Sasha all the best!

Her and Lola Pendande, I don't get it, what are they hoping to gain? I see "jail breaks" from some schools in the Portal, 5 ,6 or more players bailing at once. You wonder what went wrong at that program!

A few extra bodies and ball handlers is just a minimum though. The Beavs are really going to need some scoring. Let's count Talia and Taylor as scorers. Neither Kennedy or Tayla have been big producers yet. Ellie may not even return. Savannah hasn't shown the abiltiy yet. Greta? Who knows? And if even one of those I've mentioned do step up and add scoring production, one more would still be a huge help. We saw what this year was like when there wasn't much scoring coming from the 3 or 4 spot. I'd love to see the Beavs pick up a combo guard who can play the 1 and 2 and a 3 who can put the ball in the bucket.

Is there a site online to view all 700+ grad transfers so far?
