Graves is creating an even bigger problem for himself than he had this year ! Arizona will be the class of the PAC , We will be a year away ! Graves has a couple of 'negative impact ego's' on that team ! They should be use to it when they had Campbell who left and Ionescu who graduated. The princess that wont make it in the WNBA. Ionescu is killing it in the W this year. Nice hot take on her not making it.

Nice hot take on her not making it. Yeah, I consider the Ionescu hatred as very similar to when the pimply nerd is rejected when he asks the school princess to the prom. The irrational bitterness lasts for years.

Are you forgetting Stanford? They aren't going anywhere. Nope, Would put them at number two. We'll see. I think McDonald is a bigger loss than Kiana Williams and Stanford brings back a whole lot more than Arizona does. Cats have some nice transfers coming in but 'Furd has another good recruiting class. Somebody needs to take over the PG position for the Card (although getting Anna Wilson back for another year should be quite a stabilizing factor), but 'Zona has more question marks.

You don't have to be delusional, or brain dead, to predict that Arizona will beat out Stanford for the # 1 spot in the Pac next year....but it helps.... GO BEAVS!!

I think the Beavs are two years away. I am strong on Arizona BECAUSE they have solid pickups from the transfer portal and they will matchup well everywhere , except with the tree's center. But, criticize away ... I am used to seeing guys and gals wrong on this( and other, boards) - all the time ! Adiah has a long term plan for that program ( just like Scott ), and Graves is hopscotching his way through - with only a year to year approach ! How much longer is Stanford going to be able to hold onto their 'winningest' coach ! I know she won't leave for another school, but she may call it quits at any time ! THAT would be a big loss and the other PAC 12 schools would totally re- shuffle ( maybe Brink transfers - who knows ?). Anyway, I am good with my early WAG - you can say and do what you wish ! Go Beavers !

That Stanford degree is something worth having. Tara will obviously have to call it a career at some point, but the school will still be what it is.
It may be apples and oranges, but Stanford volleyball has continued to roll after several coaching changes. 3 different coaches have won multiple National Titles there.

When Katie F started following Lauren on twitter, I really thought it would be nice to add Lauren to the Beavs roster, knowing we needed guard depth. Little did I know, Katie was already making moves on behalf of Washington. I think Lauren is a great pickup for them. It also says a lot for Tina Langley that two of her players are willling to follow her across country. I know the Pac-12 is super tough, but if I were a Washington fan, I'd be pretty happy with the coaching moves they've made. Trying to land recruits from the state of Washington just got a lot harder. Katie is gonna kick some butt on the recruiting trail. Just wait and see. Katie is the glue that holds all the recruiting together. Agree completely on Katie. She relates very well to recruits and the college players. I expect Washington has made huge steps forward this off season.

So, Inwas not referring to a Stanford degree or transfers ! You will have, over time, the impact of a legendary coach leaving the program , and the effect on players being recruited , as well as actually signing ! Academics play a role , but there are plenty of female athletes that have both the athletic skills and the academic drive to thrive at Stanford ! i will go back to Arizona , and will say that school is not an Academic school anywhere near Stanford , much less Cal, or USC ! But - they are picking off Girls with Stanford offers. In fact , I think the Beavers NOW have a couple of girls that signed with OSU over Stanford. Tara gets who she really wants, with every class. A new coach is going to have a VERY tough act to follow - and it won't be as easy as Tara has it now !

That is correct - you see this very often and there are multiple examples - What happened to OSU BASKETBALL WHEN Ralph Miller retired ? What is happening to OSU baseball - since Pat Casey retired ? What happened to our Wrestling team when Dale Thomas retired?
These are just OSU specific examples !

Good points. I believe in womens college basketball we have yet to see a program successfully transition after the retirement or otherwise leaving of a legendary coach. We'll soon get a couple more opportunities w/ Geno and Tara (as well as Mulkey changing jobs--what will happen now at Baylor?). Have to consider though that wcbb has a relatively short history.
While it's still obviously hard to follow a legend in men's bb, some programs have remained powerhouses over many many decades and multiple coaches. There might be a lull for a while, but they keep coming back.
