TDSR #23 OSU 22 votes for top 25 Maybe someday, if Rueck just works a little harder and we get a little bit of good luck, we'll finally move past Stephen F. Austin where we could have a realistic expectation of achieving top 25 status. SFA lost to ASU by just 9 points. Best team they played all year, and quite an accomplishment to keep it so close. I'm sure the 91-48 pounding of the University of the Incarnate Word impressed the voters in the poll. Wish we were that good now. Baby steps.... |

TDSR #23 OSU 22 votes for top 25 BTW, Marquette, who is 2 spots ahead of us in in the "getting votes" category, plays UConn tonight at 5 Pacific, I believe, on FS1. Might be interesting to see how a superior team like Marquette does against a #1 seed.... We can use that as a measuring stick to see how we might struggle against UConn. |

Welp. UConn over Marquette by 34. OSU was on the receiving end of a 34 pt. beat down by Stanford. So maybe the rankings are about right.

Well, there is the unfortunate fact that we have but 11 wins. There have no doubt been many teams that were ranked when they had but 11 wins, but that was always in early January. Matter of fact, I'm willing to bet that no team prior to now has ever made the NCAA tournament with just 11 wins - and 7 losses. Had we beaten Utah and Washington State once, we'd be ranked about 16 or so.
So we're sort of ranked #29. Wonder what sort of seeding an 11 win team ranked 29th will wind up getting.

Does it really matter. 29th is a hole lot better than not. Lets think what we can earn rather then what we deserve. Our record will deserve much more merit when we win two three more times! I do believe we should have had the v opportunity to play Arizona. Then we would have been secured in the top 15 or 20 in the country.

Many posters on web sites such as this one, have a far better take on the relative strength of college teams than some of the AP voters. They basically go by won lost records and reputation.
