Sloppy game. Not great effort and nit great rebounding. Cal played us tough.

In game 2 USC has come up with a good strategy--don't miss shots. Hitting 70% and thumping Arizona St. 39-22.

I'm going to attribute this game to not a lot of focus and hustle, and just playing down to the competition. I think the Beavs will bring more effort and concentration tomorrow, but the opponent is much tougher.

Why does he play Mitrovic? She is ugh! We get pounded on every time she plays. He's playing Mitrovic to save Taylor's legs if we go deep in the tournament. And, we have to get Mitrovic some tournament experience should Taylor get in foul trouble in future games.

Reading all the comments, and, after watching this game, we got the "W". Moving on. I will go back and watch the game, but Cal made a lot of difficult shots. If there is a criticism, I thought we got outhustled to 50-50 balls, and gave Cal too many extra opportunities. Other than that, I really believe Rueck is playing the long game, trying to get as many of his 9-deep some tournament experience. Besides the 5 starters, Rueck has seemingly settled on these 4 coming off the bench: TvO, Mitrovic, Samuels, & Jas.

After two hard fought emotional road wins...must wins...this team did what it needed to. Win and advance. I think we are firmly in the tournament and every win going forward is gravy. We have already beaten uo and Ucla,so this team knows it can beat anyone. Go Beavers!

Mitrovic’s best attribute - by far - is her passing. She threw three great passes to Ellie in the third quarter of the Oregon game (only got one assist, but it also resulted in four free throws), then had three really nice ones today (Savannah traveled on one). Really good passer from the high post area. If wonder if he would ever try to let her throw it into Jones from that area, though he is probably to worried about the defensive end.
Where she needs to improve is catching the ball deeper on her post ups and, more importantly, her defense. Her defensive positioning is like Trish’s. She’s 6-9 and gets scored on too often and too easily. She also is rarely in good positioning for offensive rebounds, but right now she’s most valuable passing out of the high post. I still think she has a solid upside and am excited to see her grow.

Camera work awful by PAC-12 network. The PAC 12 Network generally does a crappy job. Their announcers usually are just having a conversation, which occasionally touches on what's happening on the floor. At least half the time, they don't tell us who committed the foul, which they compound by never showing the ref signaling who it's on. And they show replays while the game is going on, or somebody's shooting free throws, at the other end of the court. It's a poorly run organization.
