willtalk, we agree most of the time, but on this one I don't agree that Aleah Goodman's 3v3 experience wasn't a HUGE help in developing her game. I watched nearly every one of her 3v3 games as she traveled around the world. That experience not only helped her with her ability to get to the rim, but also in the pick & roll game. Lastly, the 5v5 basketball game often breaks down into 3v3 and 2v2 (game within a game). My daughter played soccer for 13 consecutive years, and, while soccer is a 11v11 game, they practiced 3v3, 5v5 all the time, as soccer also breaks down into the game within the game. The other gain in this experience for Aleah was on the defensive end. Her defense was a step function better last year after the 3v3 experience. And she is one very complete player in every way you measure a complete basketball player. Her improvement year to year has been remarkable. And, I believe that 3v3 experience was HUGE for Aleah.

I'd like to see more of Savannah - hopefully she gets minutes in the Cal game.
Agree with the snippy and blaming attitude with UO. Bummer for them that they have a culture like that.
GO BEAVS!

Odd thing I noticed about the Ducks this season. They aren't very nice. They were yelling at each other. When an OSU player was down they make a big show about ignoring them (whereas the Beav's helped Ducks up several times). Heck, they weren't even helping each other up sometimes. The only exception I noticed was Dugalic, she helped up a Beav once and generally seems like a nice person. And before someone goes on about how I just don't like the Ducks. Last year the big three were all really nice (yes, even the Queen). I got to interact with a couple and see the others with fans and they were all really nice. I don't know, season seems to be going downhill for them and I could see that being hard to take. They are all stars now, 5-star recruits, etc. UO wasn't much of a program when Sabrina, Ruthie, Sabaly and Corzola, the graduated stars from the last two years, came into the program. They got humbled and played before small crowds. These new recruits and transfers, it would seem, feel like they are stars already, with attitudes to match.

Was so glad to see Ms. Corsdale have such an excellent game! No doubt the "road to recovery" has been a long and difficult one for her.
She seems to be a "class act" in all respects.

I was worried about the last bracket having us play Louisville but looking at their roster we would match up really good against them and they are right for the upset.

Louisville is a very talented team, but it would be nice to have a shot at getting some revenge from the last two ncaa tournaments. Oh how *sweet* that could be!

I’m not sure that this game supports that assertion. OSU shot 24 free throws to üö’s 13. Agreed. Not trying to start another conversation about Pac-12 officiating, but today it went both ways. The officiating problem was not overall numbers ... the zebras made three outlandish calls on Taylor Jones . This 'targeting' took her off the court for several minutes and also affected her play ! These three calls were not even close ! I also am not trying to start a string about officiating - I just wanted to point out the critical aspect of what they were doing with Taylor's play ! Glad, in the end, that it did not work ! Go Beavers !

Taylor needs to avoid those type of fouls.

If Aleah comes back and kennedy is healthy I do not agree Stanford wins the conference not in the slightest. Not to mention if mack also comes back. I'm a little concerned that the Beavs turnaround and making the tournament may be just enough for Aleah to move on. If the Beavs don't make the tournament, I think Aleah returns becaues there would be unfinished business....two years in a row without being in the tournament would probably lead her to return. Now, I'm a little less confident, but I hope she returns. As for Mack, I think her improved play, and the fact that she now sees herself able to compete in the Pac-12, may lead to her returning. There are a lot of questions for every team when it comes to next season with the extra year possible for everyone. I'm not ready to hand it over to Stanford yet, but they may have the early lead. I don't know how good the Beavs will be without Aleah, and they would be terribly shorthanded at PG if Aleah is not with the team next season. An injury to Talia would really be a problem. If Aleah decided not to return, I would hope the Beavs find a transfer PG as a backup. If Aleah and Ellie both return this team could be VERY good. Just think of the potential of the defense with Taylor, Kennedy, and Sasha on the floor together. I was actually thinking the opposite about Aleah. To me, if anything this reminds her of what beaver basketball is really like. The past two seasons were not our best work. She’s finally getting a taste of what it used to feel like, and what the team will be like next year. She really seems to be having fun out there and I hope that in itself will be a driving factor to her returning for next season. This team is special and could pull off some upsets in the NCAA tournament, but I doubt they’ll make a deep run (hope I’m wrong). I see them being much more consistent next season, leading to a better position when it’s time to dance. Maybe Aleah sees this too.

plus she knows what it is like to play in a packed gill which we should not under estimate as a come back factor

After thinking about this a bit, if the Beavs can even get past the first game in the NCAA tourney, the second game will be very tough. If they lose that game, the 'taste' of the NCAA tournament, and what could be, just might be exactly what Aleah needs to pump that desire to return. Plus her love of Oregon State, the fact that she can lead the team again, and tutor the young guards. I'm hoping she returns but there may be an opportunity out there that is too much to resist.

There can't be many experiences in life like the ones you get to have in front a rabid Beaver crowd especially when the team is playing well. Of course this assumes we will actually get to "Fill Gill" next season.

Completely agree with that assessment, rmancarl. I hate to put pressure on Aleah and her return, but it would also be a positive statement for future recruits looking at our program.

A couple points about Aleah and her potential return. She had made it will known that she eventually wants to coach. She is learning from a great coach that does things the right way. That same coach allows Aleah a lot of input on the plays being run, much of the time he doesn't give her the set. He was asked about it in an interview a couple years ago and he replied that she is a coach on the court and has a great feel for the game. That is one reason that at the end of games last year Aleah was running things while Destiny sat.
I also think that her stock will rise by returning, not sure she will ever be wnba material mostly because of the game they play, but she could play overseas.
One more thing about Aleah. She has a swagger that we've been lacking since Syd graduated. It's great to see that again on a Beaver uniform.
