In our first six games, our relief pitchers have combined to throw for 23.2 innings. And over the course of those innings, they have only given up 2 runs.
I don't think losing Nate will be a problem.

This is the deepest bullpen we've ever had.

We have seen a lot of different relievers, and I can’t think of any who struggled. Just one strong arm after another.

So far the pitching staff is beyond expectations. 3 runs given up in 3 games against a pretty talented GCU lineup....it's impressive. I think we crack top 25 on our pitching alone this week.....add our clutch hitting, defense and the fact that plenty of top 25 teams are scuffling a bit.....we get in with a bullet

Casey and Jones have really stepped up.

I see a lot of 3 to 2 type pitching duals all season. Lots of small ball

We've been scoring runs in bunches, I see more 7-2 games than 2-1 nail biters. For sure we are establishing a reputation for a team you have to kick, stomp and keep under control all 27 outs, because with 26 outs and an 0-2 count its still not over.

Casey and Jones have really stepped up. We’ve seen how good pitching can stifle our bats. That’s the same as the past couple of years. The big difference with those previous years is that our pitching is keeping us in the game late. God help our hitters if we run into someone good enough and strong enough to pitch a whole game.

I like that just fine too, through 8. Then I like to see the Beavs put up a crooked number in the 9th just to seal the deal.

Most pac 12 teams have really good fri/sat starters.

Bryant Salgado. I like this kid. Is he the one somebody was mentioning as to a spin rate that was pretty high? Kids been a strike out machine since he was a junior in high school. I like his fire, as well.

Salgado could factor in prominantly when we tap the 'pen late in the game to stem a rally or to close. Bryant throws BBs - on Sunday, he threw 23 piches in the 7th and 8th innings. Six of the 23 were 97 mph fastballs.

There is a large number of RHPs on the roster, but only four lefties. With Hjerpe starting and Mulholland finishing, that only leaves two southpaw middle-relievers. I suppose that's not a bad thing as long as they produce (and Watkins has), but it could be a problem in games that cycle through a lot of pitchers.
