One thing the military does very well, in addition to engaging the enemy is supply and logitistics. They have every thing you need.Planes, choppers, trucks, bodies, and bodies with expertise. Tell the you need this stuff from point A to point Z and into arms, they will get it done.

I thought the guy in charge of distribution WAS a military guy. Can't remember his name now but early on we saw him in his military fatigues during news interviews. Haven't seen him much in the news since December I think. Edit: This guy

Operation Warp Speed
In December we watched a 60 Minutes segment about Operation Warp Speed. This was just before the vaccines were approved. I was left very hopeful about how the Army, other Armed Forces, and the private sector (FedEx) were prepared to distribute the vaccines. “Shots in arms within 24 hours” of FDA approval and go ahead from the Executive Branch.
More like Operation Sloth Speed.

Let’s not forget that final distribution to the citizens was and is the responsibility of the States. Most have done better than the west coast, West Virginia is a leader for example. Go figure!

Has to actual get to the states first, right? Feds oversee that part of it. BTW, OSUft3 sounds kinda kinky if you ask me.

But the United States has done a tremendous job at getting shots in arms, as well. I believe that the United States is sixth in the world at distributing the vaccine, ahead of every G20 member and it really isn't close at all. The closest G20 member is G21, Spain. And the United States has vaccinated almost three times as many people per capita. That number is about the same for Germany. When you look at France and Italy, the United States has vaccinated more than three times. Almost six times as many as Russia. And more than six times for media darlings, Canada and the United Kingdom. Between the Federal government, the state governments and their private partners, the United States has done an excellent job of distributing the vaccine, much better than nations who have utilized private partners less. Now, as for the states, some states are better than others. As of Thursday, Oregon is in the upper half of states in distributing the vaccine but just barely. (#25!) Oregon has done better than California, Hawai'i and Washington but worse than Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. There tends to be an positive correlation in vaccine distribution and how conservative a state is out west. Having said that, it is a weak correlation, and I would imagine that there may be a population component. Oregon has done well nationally but poorly, when compared to other western states. The United States has done and continues to do an excellent job in distributing the vaccine. We'll see if that holds.

As Voltaire wrote, "Le mieux est l'ennemi du bien." Or, "The perfect is the enemy of the good." There is always room for improvement, but the perfect is very unrealistic in this situation. You have imperfect systems dreamt up and fabricated by imperfect people. For the most part, the United States does better than most comparable countries in everything. Operation Warp Speed is no different.

Some people think this is outstanding:
As of today 52.9 million "vaccinated," the number of people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine, covering 43.4% of the prioritized population and 15.9% of the total population.

Some people think this is outstanding: As of today 52.9 million "vaccinated," the number of people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine, covering 43.4% of the prioritized population and 15.9% of the total population. Among G20 nations, only the United Kingdom has vaccinated a higher percentage of its population. Having said that, since January 20, 2021, the delta between the United Kingdom and United States per capita vaccination rates has ballooned from 3% to 15%, i.e. the difference between the United Kingdom and United States has increased 400% since January 20, 2021. A similar bad comparisons can be drawn between the United States and Turkey, with Turkey similarly progressing a lot more strongly over the past 43 days than the United States. There are other nations, which have been running with the vaccine better than the United States of America, but the United States of America started ahead and has stayed ahead of most comparable countries.
