I think I read that some athletes at OSU receive special training (in the form of coursework, or a professional seminar) in communication skills. Especially media interviews, and small group public speaking.
Does anyone know about this?
Shifting gears: It intrigues me that women athletes, quite consistently, speak with greater fluency and clarity than the male athletes. Especially in post-game interviews and when participating in promotional events....Not sure if it's just me, but it seems to be a pretty consistent theme from what I've seen....
Curious if others here on the board have made a similar observation.... GO BEAVS!!

Mike Parker's interviews with Pat Casey used to drive me nuts. I've heard enough "ya know"s to last me a lifetime.
Not that I would be any better, mind you.

It is evident when you hear players from other teams in interviews.
