Have not coached one game in college basketball, but.....
- Too few players contributing (i.e. Stanford game, Corosdale and Mack get 54 minutes between them and combine for 3 points). Bench points=14 (and much of it comes form a HS senior)
13 on the roster and we have about 6-7 that contribute
- Starting five are playing way too many minutes......(again, Stanford, ran out of gas)
- Front line players are not versatile enough to play the 3,4, and 5 position
- Lack of overall team speed, especially at the guard position
- Too much dribbling
- Front line is not physical enough
And this is not just the Stanford game.....has been a consistent pattern throughout the year.

I don't think there is time for most of your points to be corrected. You could boost team speed by starting 3 guards, but the only talent that could make those three work is Talia, and she's just too young to count on after only a few games.
You also have only Taylor (and Jelena) who are crashing the boards, so if you start three guards, you still don't have rebounders. If you had a board crasher at the 4 spot, that would help tremendously as well. Thus far, we're not seeing Taya hit the boards as well as she did as a sophomore.
I don't think most of the starting 5 are playing too many minutes. Aleah is playing a lot of minutes, but most of the others are not in most games. They've only played 112 games though and have been disrupted many times, so the team is probably not in game condition.
Front line players are not versatile. Taylor and Jelena are "5's" only at this point in their career. Taylor is stretching out her shots a bit though, so maybe someday she can play the 4. Taya is not an insdie player and probably not quick enough for the 3. Ellie is a good ball handler, decent rebounder, nice shooter, but so far doesn't excell at any of those, and is probably a "4" playing out of position, although I don't see her crashing the boards with other 4's.
I get the dribbling thing. Watching this game it was very noticable how much more Aleah dribbled compared to Stanford, yet I'm not really sure how much that hurts the team. If the team was a bit quicker overall, perhaps the passing could be crisper and the dribbling less. I would sure like to see passing like I saw from Stanford.
I just don't see a lot of options to correct those this season, but I do see improvements in most of those areas next year. The physical front line may be the most difficult to correct next season. I think we have to hope that Taya takes a leap and improves from what we saw as a sophomore, or Kennedy comes in and helps swipe the boards. Certainly having Taylor and Kennedy on D and blocking shots (along with Sasha) makes the D stronger, rebounding better, and team speed better.
Yes, teh fact that the 3 and 4 spot are not adding much, and the bench doesn't have a scorer coming in hurts as well, but what are the Beavs options at this point? It doesn't look like Jasmine is going to add punch. I love Savannah, but she doesn't appear to be ready to add a lot yet. Jelena and Jovannah both have their talents, but unless Jovannah comes in hot hitting threes (which could happen) you aren't going to get a lot of scoring from them either.
Good post beav74.

There are a bunch of weird things going on that I don't know the answer for.
Aleah is going to end her career as the all time best 3 point shooter for the Beav's and she barely shoots the three.
Jaz is actually ahead of her in accuracy at the three and hasn't shot a three in several games.
Yo is 40% 3 point shooter and with Mack and Taya shooting 1/5 in this game Yo never enters the game.
Jones stays in this game until she passes out/fouls out and Mit plays 3 minutes.
Even after the team is just kinda staggering around out there SR still won't bring in the bench.
Still with all of that and Stanford shooting their minds out at the 3 the Beav's stayed with them until the start of the 4th Quarter.

This is 46% of our roster! Who's doing the evaluations? To be fair, only the two Senior's on this list should be expected to be contributing in a big way. If we have high expectations for true freshman, walk-ons and career injured players to bail this team out we are in bigger trouble than I think.
Mitrovic needs time, and bigs usually develop slower, I am personally not unhappy with where she's at. A solid argument could be made that Mack and Subasic have not contributed at a level expected. When you have Seniors (even transfers) that aren't contributing at a high level, your team most likely struggles because of it.
Aquino was evaluated properly sans an undiscovered medical condition. Honestly I don't think she belongs on your list. Terrible disappointment to her and the fans but not a case of bad recruiting evaluations.

This is 46% of our roster! Who's doing the evaluations? I appreciate what you are trying to say here, but the problem is, but you are listing a walk-on and a last minute PG signing that would never have happened if DS didn't leave. Ellie Macks' issue is she is playing out of position. She's a 4 and a small ball 5 but we are trying to have her play the 3. Not only does this not play to her strength, it exasperates our perimeter quickness issues. Jelana has some skills but is still rounding into shape after being out of the game for a year, and adjusting to the speed of the pac-12. Subasic I think has some talent, but she's basically a stretch 5 who has better players in front of her.
