What do you think? Unlike their Arizona games, where they seemed ready to load the bus at the end of the first and mid-way through the third with their body language, they were able to fight back and hit some threes. Did they fight till the end or mail it in and give up?
Call it sarcasm: BTW, we gave up.
Are you at all surprised that, with all of their elite, top-notch talent, and top-ranked recruiting class, your beloved duckies haven’t been able to get a win against a top-3 team?

During the last 3 or 4 minutes of the first half Oregon picked up the pace of their game considerably - they played defense more aggressively, and played faster both offensively and defensively.... And it helped considerably....Their BIGGEST plus in keeping this game close, and almost pulling it out, is that they had 6 different players hit 3s. That's impressive for any team. Right now Graves is facing a problem similar to Rueck, they both have teams where the whole is less than the sum of its parts. I know a lot of people like to hammer the Ducks -no problem - but right now they have a ton of talent on their roster, they have 3 or 4 Frosh who are going to be top line players next year, and right now they are so far ahead of the Beavs it's somewhere between embarrassing and discouraging. Coach has recruited 5 or 6 players who don't contribute. It's tough to make a case that defends that kind of recruiting...And recruiting is the lifeline of every team that aspires to a top 3 finish in the conference. At any rate, I'm pretty much locked into waiting for next year and hope things take a big turn for the better.... The other day I asked the board to list 3 things this year's team does well. No one replied. Including myself - because I can't come up with 3 things they do well - and by "well" I mean top 3 in the conference well. GO BEAVS!! Here are more than three: #1 - DRPG #2 - FG% #1 - 3FG% #1 - APG #2 - BPG #2 - PPG #2 - Opponent FG% #1 - Fouls drawn per game Those are a lot of really important stat categories (some also not that meaningful) that OSU apparently fares pretty well. As has been well documented, OSU did not have good 2017 and 2018 classes - and it’s showing up. We had the second or third best 2021 class and we’ll have the second or third best 2020 class if we get Timea.

[br So about three people have called you out after saying everything is not okay and you go about it as if the team has no issues. Your acceptance of mediocrity as well as excuses is disappointing. Listen to what the others are telling you. Scott will turn it around but to pretend everything is okay is way off. I understand your frustration.

First off, you never answered my question, and second off, I’ve been pretty explicit about what’s good and what’s bad about this team: - We shoot it well, pass it pretty well, etc. - We also defend the three point line awfully, don’t offensive rebound, and give up too many second chance points. We have a good, not great, offense, but a supbar defense mostly because we don’t defend the three point line or pick and rolls well. Unless you have a great offense, you don’t win Pac-12 games with subpar defense.

Watched about 30 seconds of it...the butt ugly court hurt my eyes and had to move on. Stanford is an excellent team...uo real young.

I watched from third quarter to the finish , did not wish to watch the entire game because the white and pink uniforms make me very hungry for cotton candy ! At any rate , what I saw was a game plan that puts everything through pow pow . She is a freshman, not so big, and can only hit her shots if she is given space! Stanford has long arms and height as well as above average quicks . While I watched , pow pow made several mistakes after dribbling into trouble - especially near the end of the game. If you put a dedicated tall defender on her, she digs her own hole and limits her assists and shooting opportunities . Also, every time she tried to drive, or get near the hoop- they collapsed on her- preventing her from kicking the ball in or out. She also slips and travels a lot ( at least on Matt Court ). If they are not hitting from outside, ( mikesell, boley, et al), they are in for a tough game !

And now they’re getting killed by UCLA, down by 24 with five minutes left in the fourth quarter.

I'll say it again, Sabally is a bull in a china shop. Just lowered her shoulder and took a bruin out. No finesse at all.

Prince has 0 rebounds in 17 minutes. At 6-7. You would think at least 1 rebound would just accidentally fall into her hands in that much time on the court.

Incidental contact is one thing but with her it is intentional contact.
