Mike Parker. "here's the .100 batter that hits .100 on the season....... and there's a triple. So the .100 batter gets his 5th hit of his Pac 12 career. Now he's 5 for f/ing 500....." I''m done with MP's s%#t like that. He used and abused it at WSU this year. Out.

MP is fun to listen to when things are going well. He goes doom pretty quickly though at the slightest misfortune or bad play. Baseball is to be enjoyed, not watched with wrung hands and a cloud over your head.

Your blood, my blood, everybody's blood runs red. Mike Parker came north from California and his blood turned green and yellow. Anybody ever seen anything green and yellow turn orange? Almost overnight? Best example I can think of would be a pumpkin. I have no problems with him, but if he gets carried away I have found I am in possession of an on and off switch and volume control. What I really want to know is, is there any possibility Darell Garretson Sr shows up at Reser to watch his son's team play and boos a really bad call? I want to think yes he would, and, WOULD TURN AROUND and encourage his section to join with him, all with many expletives.

Mike Parker is the voice of Beaver Nation. We all feel the way he sounds. That's why he's so good...he's got his finger on the pulse.

Darrel Garretson Sr., much like his son and Ron, has no place to ever boo a bad call seeing as how he made a career out of them.
As for Mike Parker, I'll take him calling a game over anyone.

I love the way Parker handles every sport he calls. I wish he also had time for women's basketball. Yes, we get the emotional runs, but this is what keeps me from 'losing it'. Knowing the situation and the frustration as well as the excitement that emanates from each broadcast is why I listen to Parker rather than the actual network or opposing team announcers. The small talk and biased analysis is enough to make one lose their lunch. Parker is part of the game - almost on the bench or between the lines. These other 'talking heads' are robot's driven by the demands of broadcasting roles where they really actually talk about everything but the game.Bill Walton is a perfect example of this 'role' . I just cannot stand to listen to him. One of the best announcers/ color guys is - in my mind-Bill Schonley. He got it. He is not off topic or showing that he has more 'intellectual depth or insight' than the next guy - he's calling the plays and you can feel the joy and pain in their voices as they relate the feelings of the fans - not focusing on themselves or their own ego's.
I will take Sconley any day, for any sport. He could call a hamster race and I would get into it.

I love to hear Mike Parker do baseball games, I think it is his best sport. Sure he is a fan, you can tell he is fond of the players.
His greatest moment is when he calls the final out on our first NC. To hear his voice crack as the game ends causes me to tear up just typing this.

MP is Beaver Nation. We are emotional, biased, short tempered, and insecure enough to wonder if we deserve to feel this good. What's wrong with him being a mirror? Nothing is wrong, as far as I'm concerned.

I think Parker does a pretty good job. The Beavers could definitely do worse, and I think he's a pretty good fit. Obviously a lot of people really like who he calls a game. Sometimes though he can be a little hard for me to listen to.

I'm not really a big fan when he's doing games solo. He gets terribly repetitive IMO, granted I get it's probably a really hard deal going solo. If Big Jim is also in the booth, then it can be pretty good stuff. Either way, a million times better than the Joe Beaver Show / apply every situation to a WC Fields movie quote funtime hour.

Oh god, the Joe Beaver Show. I mean, I get that it's a small market and there's not a lot of people listening, but it blows me away that every time they do a show out of the studio, the phone lines don't work, or somebody's mic is dead, or there's some other issue that was totally preventable. Hell, half the time they're in the studio, nobody checks to see if the computer system is up and running until just before they go on the air and chaos ensues. Maybe they're working on the smallest budget ever and I will freely admit that I know nothing about putting a radio show on the air, but man it's hilarious. I will say that I love it when they get Jason Quick or Harold Reynolds to come on the show. Those are always great interviews....so long as Parker's the one asking questions.

NABeav - we've never agreed more on a topic buddy...
Spot on on the technical difficulties. Also kills me that Doc Warren co-hosts a sports talk show, but basically doesn't watch any sports so there's a lot of "well I didn't see it, but I hear Draymond Green kicked somebody last night. If anybody saw it, call in and tell me what happened."
Parker will absolutely destroy a dead horse on that show. 1 HAND CATCHES ARE THE DEVILS WORK!!! Last time I tuned in, I think he spent about 45 consecutive minutes on the fact that he missed a disputed call in the USC series. I've never wished more for a Dave from Tumwater phone call.

In fairness, two hours is just too long for a radio show in this market (particularly during non-football season), and they're basically forced to draw things out just to kill time. Sort of like when they do the four hour pregame show and we get twenty minutes of Dougie Blair reading us the wikipedia page for the opposing school word for word.
