I posted Ryan Boyd as an OSU verbal but have not been able to confirm him anywhere.
He is the second commit Perfect Game has posted to Oregon State that I was unable to confirm. Within a week or so, Perfect game then removed him from our commit list. It appears they may have a hair-trigger or they are getting some bad information that ends up being corrected at a later date. INF Will Mosqueda was the other pledge they announced then removed shortly after. For now, I would remove them from the OSU commit list.
Ricke71' recent catch of Xavier Neyens, the 8th grader in Conway, WA. is interesting. If I may, I'll share a few notes I found. The brief scouting notes that exist so far, indicate a good size projetion from his current 6' 176 at age 14. He's played C, 3B and pitched but Catching looks like his calling. He bats left and has a sweet stroke with an 84 mph exit velo and a 284' max carry. Several videos quickly show an advanced player for his age.
Xavier has already played summer baseball for three select teams; Cascade Crush Select, Next Level Xtreme, and Trosky National 14u. In addittion to tournaments in the Northwest, he's participated in tournaments in Arizona, Florida and Georgia with his elite travel teams. He's made All Tournament Teams in 3 of the the 7 he's played in. I mentioned his likely destination as Burlington-Edison HS - Nope, try one school south at Mt. Vernon, WA.
