Southern Cal h.s. offensive lineman Jason White flips his commitment from Boise St to Oregon St. Very athletic OT and a great addition to the osu recruiting class. Top 100 California athlete. Lots of offers from Power 5 schools.

Good to get White. We only have very few recruits. If we do not get DL and DE help we will be in big trouble. You cannot get to the top with a class over 100 in the nation. Still hope.

The ranking is a farce and most people know it. There is 85 scholarships. You can recruit a max of 25 per year. The coaches that do a good job retaining recruits have worse recruiting classes because the rankings are based too much on quantity and not quality. Until this is fixed it will always be a farce. Transfers has further devalued the faulty ranking system. The best way to rapidly improve a team is through high quality transfers, but this is also the fastest way to decrease your recruiting ranking. This is due to the fact it takes spots from high school recruits who are valued much higher in the rankings.

If we signed 4ea. 5 stars, we would still be at the bottom, so why care where some recruiting outfit puts us...No respect.....

Look at stars per player and we're 8th in the conference. That metric has improved every year under Smith. We probably won't be finishing top of conference in rankings due to what others have said regarding transfers. I'm fine with that.

I'm fine with that. 247 Sports has our average rating at 85.18, which is right around 60th overall, having a small class did hurt in the overall points rating, but compared to the past this is the highest average rated class ever. Riley had an 85.01 class in 2010, and Jonathan had classes in the 84 range twice, but otherwise we've never hit an 84 point average ever.

We need athleticism on OL/DL so anytime we get one of these guys who has options, it's huge.
With Jermar, and overall how exciting our offense has been, I'm betting we start to see more of this.
