From the article:
Oregon State is hitting the in-state preferred walk-on market hard this last week prior to National Signing Day. On Monday the Beavers added West Linn athlete Gavin Haines to the commitment list and this morning wide receiver Jeremiah Noga from Grants Pass made the call to play for Coach Smith. This evening, BeaverBlitz has learned that Baker City (Ore.) Baker defensive end Jake Wright has committed to play for the Beavers as a preferred walk-on this fall.
The Beavers signed eight prep athletes and have welcomed Semisi Saluni, a returning missionary to the mix during the early signing period in December. Throughout the past month, the Beavers have also added four transfers from the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Wright is a 6-foot-5, 240 pound wide defensive end/offensive tackle, who will get his first look on the defensive side of the ball at Oregon State.
I know his parents Such a terrific family and they are OSU through and through. He was a good basketball player too. Hard worker and great attitude who fits the PWO profile perfectly.

I love that Coach Smith going after in-state talent aggressively. This builds relationships with coaches and communities. Its a smart move for the long play......love seeing a Baker kid too! Eastern OR is Beaver country!
