It was largely a day of UGLY basketball. No real surprises until the finale.
ASU 51 Colorado 47
Arizona 66 Utah 54
Oregon 58 WSU 50
UCLA 70 Stanford 66
Bruins grabbed 21 O boards and just outworked the Card. Stanford is in danger of underachieving on a fairly large scale this year. No doubt the most talented team in the conference but the pieces don't quite seem to fit together or something.
Standings are all jumbled up now. Arizona in 1st by half a game, followed by Stanford and then UCLA and Oregon in a virtual tie another 1/2 game back. Teams have played a different number of games so that throws everything off.
At first there was just a top and a bottom, but now we seem to have a clear middle w/ ASU, WSU, USC and I guess Colorado.

Washington St. has now lost 3 in a row. All 3 were close, all 3 were on the road, 2 were in OT. 2 of the 3 were against ranked teams. I wonder if the Cougs will be a little deflated, or if they will be extremely motivated to get a win on Sunday.

We need desperately to sweep the Washington schools.

I am beginning to wonder if the style of game has left Tara V. Talent all over the place but do they play well as a team. Sometimes there is too much one on one going on. Haley Jones in particular is a bit of a ball hog and less team orientated. Brink is going to be something very special, a state of Oregon kid too.

Haley Jones in particular is a bit of a ball hog and less team orientated. Brink is going to be something very special, a state of Oregon kid too. Williams does a lot of one on one as well. First 3 minutes of the game was about the best offense I've seen anyone run all seen. Crisp, precise passes. Nothing but layups or wide open jumpers. I'm sure UCLA made adjustments, but Stanford totally got away from executing in the half court. Down the stretch was almost all isos and taking turns going one on one. Lexie Hull can get in that mode too.
Brink has to figure out how to stay out of foul trouble. Some of it is Fr. mistakes, but the refs don't giver her any benefit of the doubt. Sometimes she picks up fouls just for being in the general vicinity of a shooter. She had zero impact in the first half but had a nice run in the second half, grabbing rebounds, forcing TOs, got a couple buckets.
