One of the very greatest ever. Yes he was one of the greatest ever. The racist vitriol during his HR chase of Ruth was sickening.

I am old enough to remember his chase of Ruth and what he went through (insert racial slur here, Aaron dealt with all that with class, I was watching and saw 715 when Al Downing delivered a wheelhouse batting practice fast ball and Hammering Hank dealt with it. Greatest moment in baseball history.

Aaron, Willy Mays and Ernie Banks were my favorite players back in the day. Mays was my #1 guy because he played for my favorite team (SF Giants).

MLB Network had a really nice tribute to Henry. It may come up in repeat. Take a look.

One of the very greatest ever. Yes he was one of the greatest ever. The racist vitriol during his HR chase of Ruth was sickening. But not surprising.
