Goodell should move them from #6 to #9 in the draft order for intentionally throwing the game.
The ONLY legitimate reason the Eagles could have for doing what they did was to avoid dropping from #6 to #9 in the draft if they had won.
This ain't the NBA, where it's no big deal to lose intentionally.

I'm no eagles fan, but Hurts wasn't playing well, and Sudfeld has been on the roster for 4 years. Coach said he wanted to get him some reps.
Pittsburgh intentionally sits starters and loses and it's ok. Eagles replace a QB with a rating of 24 late in the game, and they should be penalized by the NFL. Gotcha.
If the Giants wanted to be in the post season, maybe they should have done better than 6-10. If you want in, it's best to not leave it in the hands of another team.

Intentionally resting starters for a playoff game vs replacing your rookie starting QB in the 4th quarter of a 3-point game with a journeyman scrub are more than just slightly different. Anyone who isn’t an Eagles fan can see the difference. It’s the closest thing I’ve ever seen to intentionally throwing a game in the NFL. “Coach said he wanted to get him some reps”. lol I can’t imagine anyone actually believing that Doug Peterson thinks it’s more important to get a 5th year 3rd string QB “game reps”, over your rookie QB of the future. This stuff is for pre-season. |

The problem with that argument is that he also said he was playing to win the game (but not as dramatically as Herm Edwards said it). Then he went to the wanting to get the 3rd stringer some reps card. Those are mutually exclusive statements. Tell the truth, Coach. You didn't care about the game, you wanted to get your backup to the backup some reward reps (like youth football?) and you stood to move from 9 to 6 in the draft. You weren't trying to win at that point. *Not a fan of any team in or near the NFC LEast. |

Yah, Collinsworth and Michaels spent most of the 4th quarter not even pretending this was anything but a "we hate the Giants more than Washington" effort in putting the third stringer in there. Only consolation to the viewing public was that he would have started the game if the Cowboys were the team on the string instead of the Giants. |

Eagles gain nothing by winning and gain 3 draft positions by losing............sounds like a case of addition by subtraction to me.
Coaches seat may have warmed up had his team won that final game.
