Portland Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Opened November 1960. I wish there were a way to disassemble it, and ship it down to Corvallis and reassemble it for OSU's 12,000+ seat basketball arena. And start up an OSU NCAA hockey program while we're at it (might come to that if more west coast teams keep dropping wrestling). At any rate, it's still a beautiful building.

You may call it beautiful on the outside, but the inside is now a dump. They have put no money into it and if you've been to Winterhawks game there, you can see that they are letting it rot.

12,000+ seats for BASKETBALL? Why? We haven’t been good since Ralph was in charge.

I’ve never been impressed with that building. I’m typically a guy who doesn’t like to see old buildings torn down, but that Coliseum just doesn’t feel to me like it has enough historical or aesthetic appeal to save it from the wrecking ball.

I think the photo speaks for itself. From a special 2009 Blazers preseason game at MC. The first hockey team in that arena was the Portland Buckaroos. Connie Madigan, Cliff and Arnie Schmautz, we yelled out heads off on the rare chance to attend a game.
