Repeating this info from another thread:
Carroll was Ranked #20 NAIA pre-season. They're 5-0 this season (all against NAIA teams, I think). They finished their most recent game (v. Lewis-Clark State) on a 53-9 run.....winning 99-48.
Pickens at 6-2 is their only starter taller than 5-9. She played last season (her freshman season) for the D-1 U. of M. Lady Griz, and appears to have been their 6th woman last season. In HS she was 2-time Gatorade POY in Montana.
Carroll's head coach is quoted in Helena media (re: the Beavs): "To go down and play an Oregon State, they have two girls that are 6-foot-9 and another that is 6-foot-7 and 6-foot-6, so they are actually bigger than our men's team..."

Well, if the NCAA goes to a single site for all games, that will lessen the blow a bit, meaning if there is no home court advantage for the 1st/2nd rounds. But it could mean OSU WBB could meet up with #1, #2, #3 ranked team in the country in their 3rd NCAA Tournament game.

I just skimmed through the article, but this is not going to be a normal year. Cancellations will continue and I would expect a lot of teams will not play a full slate of games. I hope I am wrong on this, but I doubt all 12 Pac12 teams end up playing the full schedule against each other. When it comes to who makes the tournament and tournament seeding, it will probably be more difficulty than ever before to make decisions. For that matter, if we are not past all of this come tournament time, there could be tournament games that get cancelled/postponed. That could really make a mess of the whole tournament. Hopefully all that won't happen.
Back to the worst nonconference schedule in the nation, which is worst playing two NAIA teams, or not playing any nonconference games at all?

In response to your last question, I would say playing no teams or playing 2 NAIA teams is a "wash" when it comes to tournament seeding, since games against NAIA teams technically don't count. (of course for OSU, I think 2 NAIA games is better than no games at all). However, if a team like OSU loses or even barely wins against an NAIA team, I can see this secretly entering and negatively affecting the thought patterns of some tournament selection committee members.

Just shows how clueless ESPN writers can be. These games will not pull the Beavers strength of schedule down because they will not count. It will be just like they played no preseason schedule. The Pac 12, unlike some other conferences , is strong enough that teams do not need out of conference wins to pull up their strength of schedule. In fact it is an advantage that they are playing these teams. I will give them experience without it counting as an opponant. If they played a weak D1 team it would drag down their strength of schedule. Besides, I believe out of conference games, unless they are against ranked teams, will not have much of an impact this season for P5 teams. Many of their sheduled games ended up being canceled so most teams have fewer non conference games to gauge any team by. Louisville had their UConn game canceled and they were hunting for anyone to play. Those that do the ranking are going to have little to go on in respect to out of conference games.

Well, that sucks, to put it mildly. Wonder who tested positive...one or more of their players or one or more of OSU's??? I think this is going to happen several or more times during the regular conference schedule.

Does anyone know the specific rules (guidelines) by which game cancellations are called? If there a specific number of players, etc. etc.... Is it a matter of each team getting to make their own call about whether they are able to play?
If the game cancellation was made today that means the visiting team is already here in town somewhere. The Hilton?
At any rate, I have not seen specific rules about game cancellation so I'm just wondering if anyone knows the particulars about this.....Thanks.... GO BEAVS!!

That's a ridiculous premise in this season. If OSU only manages to play 23 games, but 22 of them are against conference opponents, they will have played 8 (over 1/3 of their games) against teams currently in the top ten, and 4 more against very solid USC and Arizona State teams.

Is it me or does it seem that the majority of issues like this is from the smaller schools. Can we get Portland or Portland State scheduled this pm or on Tuesday?
