My apologies to all the GOOD BSA leaders out there who far outnumber the pervs. I assume. I was never a BS. Made it all the way to Lions (later "WEBELOS"....uhhhh....terrible .....ah..... thing. I hope all guilty parties burn in an eternal hell). Sports took me away from the scouts. |

I got to Webelos....and then I thought what are we called? It was probably '66 or so. I earned my "Lion Badge," then had to elevate to WEBELOS...whatever. Football, basketball, baseball made the scouts moot. |

I was one arrowhead short of WEBELO. Sports got me away from Scouts as well.
Our Den leader was a great man, and I'd wager the vast, vast majority of adults involved in BSA are above reproach.

Next level up was Tenderfoot, got your arrow of light - I can officially say I was a boy scout, for the few months before we moved to an area where scouting was not big, no troop to continue on with. |

I got to Webelos....and then I thought what are we called? Webelos was the transition line from cub scout to boy scout. Next level up was Tenderfoot, got your arrow of light - I can officially say I was a boy scout, for the few months before we moved to an area where scouting was not big, no troop to continue on with. I made it past webelos (so, officially a Boy Scout) Then we had our first backpacking trip, which showed me scouting was just not my thing. My oldest brother and my father-in-law were both Eagle Scouts. All my time in scouting, all the scout leaders I met were there for the right reasons. I’m also sad that Penn State won a game, but if they had to win, Michigan was not a bad choice. |
