Wow game was a mismatch from beginning. Where's Our ht? Totally outmatched. Then his perimeter players penetrated right into all of Stanford's ht?. Kinda wonder what Rueck is thinking here. We didn't spread the court with our small players, instead we collapsed the court right into Stanford's strength. We could have spread the court to take advantage of their bigs and didn't. Weird game. The only thing I can think was supposed to happen is the guard was penatrating to look for the kick out to one of our shooting guards. Wasn't working.kinda surprising the best game of Morris career was 13 points against Stanford. She hardly even saw the court in this game.

I think you are suffering from a faulty memory or revisionist history. Morris never scored 13 against Stanford. She did so against Cal, but never earned much time to play against Stanford. Last season, the Beavs had a 5-point lead in the fourth quarter against the Cardinal in Gill Coliseum before dropping a close game. The second regular season game against Stanford in Maples was also competitive until the end. The Cardinal started very strong in the PAC-12 Tournament quarterfinal game against the Beavs in what would be the final game of the truncated season for Oregon State. The Beavs made it interesting with a run in the final quarter, but that game was not as closely competitive as the first two. Morris played the appropriate number of minutes against Stanford that she earned with her performances in practices. The coaches knew her strengths and weaknesses better than any of us. Watch video of her against quality bigs and you will realize she wasn't ready to contribute much as a sophomore.

Rueck started out with a mismatch that's clear. Their team dominated because of this most of game. I also do not view Washington a 4 or 5 she was in a mismatch also. Rueck chose to play a small line up probably thinking his experienced players, shorter, were better to play catch up with, which almost worked. Who got in foul trouble early because of no bigs support and crappy refs, Jones. I'm just commenting on obvious facts. Not saying fire him. But it kinda raises some questions. When you have a 6'7" kid on the bench wondering why her ht couldn't help in this situation. So did I! Sorry I call it the way I see it right or wrong. I personally liked Trisha and sorry she left! But it was obvious how Our quicker line up did save us being in foul trouble. But for the most part the game was already out of reach. Yeah Trish would have fouled. But her presence would have allowed the person's guarding Williams a better chance to stop her. Wish Pac 12 would play a few more of our other games. Can you tell I want WBB season to start again.

Stanford's Kiana Williams is jet quick and a nightmare for PAC-12 guards to try to stay in front of. I don't believe that Morris possesses the lateral quickness to protect the rim and paint like you would hope a 6'7" center could. If Morris had been a more effective defensive deterrent and help side defender, you can bet that Rueck would have played her more minutes. She simply wasn't ready and hadn't shown enough in practices to gain the trust of the coaching staff to play important minutes in big games. I wish her well at Texas Christian. By all accounts, she appears to have been a quality teammate and representative of the OSU program.

I was referencing the tourney game on sling they replay every day between us and Stanford. To the reply about Morris not picking things up enough. Well I always thought the JC girl, forgot her name, 6'8", was a real defensive liability. I thought she was slower then Morris. I watched her feet in games both years she played for us. I compared them both. I Didnt see anymore a liability in playing Morris then that other lady. That is my only beef. Besides that, I'd have to say the same thing when viewing Washington defensively. With her lack of height inside, again, we were exposed in that game against Stanford. Oh well it doesn't really matter. Coach sees these things too and we have 3 6'3" + girls Comming next year. Go beavs.
