There are a couple of things to consider when you start asking for data concerning the deaths. First and foremost is that the medical community has been fighting COVID for more than half a year. One naturally would expect that the medical community has learned quite a bit about what works and what doesn't work when treating COVID patients, thereby perhaps lowering the mortality rate. The fact that the President and his family have recovered so quickly attests to this. Another question that would need to be answered is whether these areas were actively attempting to isolate and ward off the virus BEFORE football began. If they had a clean slate to begin with and then started playing and watching sports, then the numbers would be clear. But odds are they did not take social distancing or mask wearing seriously. Odds are they opened up early or held gatherings anyway. In this case, why would expect an upsurge? It is just more standard operating procedure for those states. |
