Actual wrestling happened last weekend and some familiar names were present in the 18U elite division
195 Donovan Giangregorio ('21 commit) 1st place 182 Kodiak Stephens (21 commit) 3rd place 170 James Rowley (OSU Target) 1st place
Others of note:
182 Asher Ruchti (Thurston HS) beat Stephens 7-1 for true 2nd. He won 5A state at 152 last year. So uh.. that's impressive. 138 Daschle Lamer (CV) 5th place 132 Chance Lamer (CV/Michigan commit) 1st place 113 Mauro Michel (Cascade HS) 3rd place

Some future Beavs wrestling again this weekend at the Western States Preseason tourney in Utah...
So far I see Ricky Bell (126), Kodiak Stephens (182) and Jacob Barnes (Heavy) listed. Not all brackets out yet. Mauro Michel and Asher Ruchti of Thurston (beat Stephens) also there..

Rowley and the Lamer brothers are wrestling at the Super 32 tournament. Rowley and Chance Lamer advanced to the 16 bracket, but the updates have stopped.

Western States finals: Mauro Michel 120 - 1st (I hope we land him...I think he's only a Jr) Rickey Bell 126 - 2nd Riley Davis 152 - 1st (Wrestles for a Salem club, wonder if he's related to Davis' from Sprague High?) Kodiak Stephens 182 - 1st, avenged earlier loss to Ruchti by winning 7-2 Jacob Barnes 285 - 1st

Think he’s a soph this year.

With DeBlaere, Bell, Wisenhunt, Coyle and Vidlak all coming in, is there even room for Michel?
I want all the talent and a strong wrestling room, but we are getting Mason Reiniche basically because Cornell had 3 recruits at that weight, and winners want to wrestle. I get that they have to earn it, and Reiniche had injury issues, but there is only room for 1 starter at each weight

Rowley and Chance Lamers have made the finals at the Super 32s. Great showing against some of the best in the country. Walters beat the number 4 guy in the country, but lost 1-0 to a North Carolina State commit.

Yeah that’s pretty awesome. Lamer goes up against #1 in the country at 126 in the finals.
Man I hope we can keep Rowley in Corvallis... stud.

I think those guys will spread our some plus Vidlak for example would be 2 years ahead. I think they project DeBlaere at 33/41. Coyle most likely stays 125. he wrestled 113 last year. I do think Michel > Bell by a bunch.

Isaiah Anderson, 195, WA is in Super 32 also. He will go for 7th place. His 1st loss was to a finalist, then a close loss in the wrestlebacks.

I know there are intermat, and others have high school weight rankings. Well, Wisenhunt seems to be the highest rated of the current commits. DeBlaere also looks to have a pretty high ceiling, but it's hard to know when talking about high school kids. Some kids win state in high school one time, but win two national championships in college. Their bodies a still developing and the quality coaching one gets at a good college program goes further in determining success than rankings at the high school level. Good question though. Wish I had a better answer.
