Staubach had one NFL season in the sixties. He started one game threw 47 passes had 23 completions one touchdown and two interceptions. One great season in college and two above average seasons. Not sure that makes him the best QB in the sixties. Johnny Unitas was named to the all decade team and the all century team. If you watched Unitas play you would know who was the best QB in the sixties.

Has anyone on this board ever been to the Football Hall of Fame, or the Baseball HOF? What are your thoughts?

Been to the Baseball HOF several times, but not since the early 1990s. It is spectacular and Cooperstown is a beautiful little village. Go in the fall or spring when the schoolkids and tourists from NYC/NJ aren't there. And the fall colors in central NY are stunning.
The only place I could have spent more time, if possible, is the Smithsonian's American History Museum.

u coup years ago, when I was in the Honor Guard in Arlington, being perpetually broke GIs, there were 3 or 4 of us who would live at all the Smithsonian buildings on the weekends because it was free. You are right about the American History building. However, my biggie was seeing the Hope Diamond.

Has anyone on this board ever been to the Football Hall of Fame, or the Baseball HOF? What are your thoughts? was at the NFL HoF in 1984 when I was 13. The main thing I remember was the gigantic trophy that Harold Carmichael won for having caught passes in the most consecutive games (a record long since broken). I’m much more of a stats guy than someone who likes to read stories about great accomplishments or see Joe HoF’s cleats. I mean, it’s really a museum, so if you like museums, it’s great. I’d go back. Hope to get to Cooperstown someday.
