I don't know if there are enough players signed on some teams to fill in with all these major injuries in the first few games.

I'm curious how the numbers are going to play out and if it's indeed a spike vs a really bad individual week with some big names in particular going down - not completely sold on the not-in-game shape theory yet. I mean Barkley just got tackled in a weird position - seems like no amount of wind sprints helps you there.

I’m thinking it has everything to do with NOT being able to play at game speed and intensity prior to the “regular season.” Something that simply can’t be duplicated in practice. My take, anyway

My take, anyway SF is blaming it on the Met Life new turf. Yeah, but they weren't the only team hit... I think the lack of real training camp and preseason is evident here. You can go lift all the weight you want, but you body needs to be ready for the stops and starts and cuts it take. Most of these ACLs were no or somewhat light contact. they weren't too many actual blows to the knee.
