Slim chance. Depends a lot on status of Andrea and Kat. IMO.

Interesting pick-up - definitely a needed addition.
- I like that she has a true PG mentality, always quarterbacking when on offense, and is a pass-first slasher. Looks to get to the rim in general. Shoots the 3 well enough to need respected, but she'll need to shoot a better than her pro stats to get her number called specifically out there.
- D will need work to fit in Rueck's system - way to often gets straight-legged on defense with close-outs. Defensive angles need work as well. Fortunately, those are all SR specialties.
Overall, seems like she can help. It's odd to see an SR recruit that doesn't have great size (nor alternatively spectacular athleticism/speed), so it does feel like a need-based compromise on his typical recruit priorities, but maybe those priorities are evolving. She's not afraid to get physical, so that will help, but I do have concerns about her on the floor in Pac-12 games and getting hunted in the opponents offensive planning if she's getting significant minutes.

beav74 smarty pants.....just kidding. I appreciate the heads up. So, this pick up leaves me with a lot of questions. It's a little unusual for the Beavs to recruit a 5'6"ish player who is not a great shooter from the 3, and not a great shooter/scorer overall. She appears to be a solid player, which the Beavs can definitely use to back up Aleah, and I'm all in favor of someone who can handle the ball taking on that role. These would be my first thought questions. She is a 2020 recruit, so did anybody else try to pick her up, and why did she wait so long to decide what she was doing this year? I'm guessing she will be on scholarship, although she doesn't really say that, and there hasn't been any official word yet from the program itself. Since we are past the early, and late, signing period for the 2020 class, I would expect she would be signing a financaial aid agreement, and then the program would put out an announcement, but that hasn't happened yet, so we wait to hear hear anything official.

rmancarl - - interesting thoughts... Some of my way too quick reactions to your thoughts - after a long night of too many Canadian ryes...
1. No way she is here, taking classes, and not on scholarship - - unless her parents own a small part of the region of Portugal they live in... 2. There is nothing about this addition that screams "I can help this team right now." Unless she is a talent who has been squashed by her coach, she has thus far done very little to indicate b ball exceptionality... 3. when was the last time a guard from Europe made a splash in the Pac as a frosh or as a soph? 4. why are the last two of Rueck's brought-in-out-of-the-blue guards in the 5'6 range? When has Coach ever started a 5'6 guard??
OK, I'm gonna stop now...I wish her well....But I can't see her moving this year's needle in any direction.....Period. GO BEAVS!!

Not having seen her play other than videos provided by others here on this board, she looks like as if she can handle the rock as a PG. And she seems very comfortable shooting the long ball, and, I like the way she moves without the ball on the perimeter to get open. No idea on defense, which could be her greatest challenge in getting minutes. We clearly have to have someone who can back up Aleah, and, this young lady seems capable of doing so.

This is a good watch if anyone wants to see more:
She plays really well in the second quarter and on. — Another good one:
This team has players who played at Clemson and Arkansas.

Faustino is an insurance policy in case Goodman gets injured and or needs a more extensive rest. There is a significant difference between what Slocum offered offensively at her listed 5'7" height and what Faustino will be able to provide for OSU. Besides Slocum's burst and ability to break down her defender, Slocum was physically very strong, one of the two strongest players in the OSU WBB program. Slocum could thrive at her limited height, while Faustino will have to show the ability to go by her defender or she will be smothered in the PAC-12 by the conference's quicker defenders. I like the signing for at least the reason that it provides some more depth at the point. Hope to hear about Tudor's eligibility appeal fate for '20-'21 following the NCAA's review relatively soon, according to a credible source.

Is she really a PG? 30 minutes per game, with assist ave. of about 2 (and only 2 TO). The video sure focused on shooting and not playmaking. The shot at 1:29 was amazing.

She may not be a true PG, but she can handle the ball, and in the video, she knows how to shield the ball from defender with her body, which is paramount against quicker defenders. I'm sure the coaches would not have brought her to OSU without believing she can contribute soon.

That first video above is a lot more interesting than the FIBA game, and is probably a lot more of an indicator, as it's here play in a system.
- They used her like we use Kat, spotting up against the zone in the corners to stretch the D, and she punished them in this game as a spot-up shooter. She also showed an effective pull-up jumper when being run of the 3 point line, a really nice combo.
- They didn't use her as a PG much, although she was used somewhat interchangeably. However, when the game was tight, they put the ball in her hands a lot more ... but the generally wanted to run more offense to her than through her. She was generally the alpha on the court this game on offense, scoring in a variety of ways. Not expecting she'd be that at OSU, but you want lots of those on your team.
- This opponent had a couple of guards (twins?) that were pretty athletic/quick, and she did a decent job of staying in front/closing them out. A lot more interest and discipline on defense than in the FIBA video. Still expect defense will need work, but less worrisome after viewing it in a system setting.
