If they really do change their mascot I hope that they don’t choose one that’s objectionable So many options. They should get rid of the whole Washington name. The Maryland Soft Shell Crabs. The Chesapeake’s! Their owner Dan Snyder has said he will never change the team name.  So rest easy. |

I suspect Snyder is active on a few sports message boards. It's clear he had his mind swayed from the persuasive arguments he has read. So no more, NEVER (you can use caps), will he change the name of DC's football franchise.

Not that many people buy football shirts in summer, but the (economic) heat is on.
It really is long overdue. Haven't high school kids been writing essays and making speeches about this very issue long enough?
