Huge! Looks like he has given his verbal according to coach Engel's twitter. He was one I really wanted to keep in state. Won his 2nd state championship as a Soph and has 2 more HS seasons.

Huge surprise. Big time wrestler. Good kid. My great nephew has been working out with him for years. Both my nephew and Rowley have had recent opportunities to get pounded by Wittlake as Wittlake worked out prior to going back to the wrong OSU.

Hmm, now that I look at it again. It may be just a home town post of some sort. The graphic is OSU's. I've seen similar posts where it says 'committed.' Not on this one, just 'homegrown' I guess I have to tamper back the enthusiasm and be patient and see what happens. Forgive the false alarm.

Rowley is a national level recruit in the same vein as Wittlake was. I hear he is getting flooded with offers. Still, the picture does inspire hope. Hopefully, he works as hard in class as he does on the mat.

Yeah I took it as an "edit" or whatever the kids call them, not so much a verbal. Either way 1. HOORAY for recruiting and 2. HOORAY for a staff that appears to be embracing social media. Let's keep him home and remind him he can have freaking IMAR as a mentor/training partner.

Brawler, I would be backing off, backing off. I am hoping for some reliable info in the near future, but the negative info I initially received is now not certain at all.

Rowley is definitely not a verbal. He did talk to Beaver coaches for about half an hour when direct communication became NCAA legal. He was glad to get the call, but the communication prior to that with the new coaches was limited. On an odd note, he really liked Coach Z. Now he is far more open. Nearly every school Rowley talked with stressed getting the grades up.
Wrestling parents are really doubting there will be a high school wrestling program this year. Definitely a wait-and-see.
Rafer, the older Birdwell brother wrestles for Campbell. Definitely a strong connection present.
Finally, Whisenhunt is getting a whole lot of attention from recruiters. Good wrestler.

Yeah hearing it’s not looking too rosy right now on the wrestling front for 20-21, especially with cases still increasing in some states and wrestling typically on the backburner for NCAA or on a local level with OSAA etc.
My kid has a weekly zoom call with his coaches and it’s basically occasional guest speakers and solo workout tips. They had good ole Ken Chertow on a couple weeks ago. No word if he was still pushing Advocare lol...

Would love to tap into the C.V. program. Know Whisenhunts mom...both of our kids went to Adams grade school together. The dad was an osu wrestler. This staff excites me,and I think they will sell the osu program very well.

Like to think we’ve got the inside track there...
