And now Mrs. Butterworth's is under scrutiny because the shape of the bottle may remind some of the iconic "Black Mammy" image. It's a good thing Black Jack gum is a thing of the past because, you know, it's black. It does return now and then at holiday time along with Beeman's Pepsin and Cloves, so watch out.

I flew Alaska from Hawaii and the tail was painted like a Native American salmon symbol. Very cool. They could branch out in that way and it'd be much more interesting than the dude on the tail now.
America doesn't have to be generic and boring, but it doesn't have to promote stereotypes of different cultures or races.
Still, if you are craving your racial insensitive marketing, we still have the Redskins and Indians, so there's that.
