Eggers was hands down the best source of news in the media regarding all Beaver sports programs. It was nice that he wrote sympathetically of the Beavers as well. There seems to be no one even on the distant horizon who can replace him.

Shouldn't this be in the Rotating Tap board?

Why would it be? GO BEAVS !! It belongs on the Rotating Tap board because it’s about sports in general. It’s definitely not a OSU women’s sports topic specifically.

I suppose people do sometimes lose track of which board they're posting on. I've done it myself and never objected to the moderators moving it to the correct spot.

Eggers was by far, my favorite journalist ever.
Lots of concise accurate information packed into a Eggers column. He will be missed.
My profession is manufacturing, so I appreciated his ability to write detailed articles.

IIRC, Eggers "retired" in a cost cutting move by his employer. Not exactly on his own timeline. His insights will be missed.
Go Beavs!!

Correct, I believe he was going to retire later in the year but they moved it up to something along the lines of "hey you're going to retire tomorrow." Tough gig working for a newspaper these days - looks like he made it out in one piece at least. He's pretty active on twitter, good account to follow for OSU/Blazers/PDX Sports stuff.

Why shouldn't he retire, there will not be any sports for the remainder of year.
We have 50 different Governors, they will not be able to open up their States enough, to accommodate sports scheduling.
If this board wants to survive it will have to change.
