Aquino went to HS in California, but I believe she had committed prior to the switch, and is of course not a California native.
Seems like OSU doesn't recruit the state of California nearly as hard as the used to, Tudor, Morris, Thropay, Hanson, and Brown all come to mind as California recruits, but none were all that highly ranked. Tudor was probably the most heralded out of that group.
It can be tough to get Cali kids away from Stanford, UCLA, USC, and Cal. There are a lot of big-time academic HS in California, so an elite academic institution is often at the top of their list.

Aquino verbally committed to OSU in May 2017 when she was still living in New Jersey in what was a difficult living arrangement away from her mother. She apparently lived with the Morris family in California during her senior year of high school spent at the Ribet Academy. Tudor was ranked #93 by ESPNW in the Class of 2016.

The Ducks have had success recruiting in California - Paopao arriving this year and Ionescu 4 years ago come to mind. There's no reason we can't break through down there as well.

Campisano was also a top recruit, but did not make enough strides at Oregon to get minutes with Sabally, McGwire, and Hebard all ahead of her. She had a terrific season at Cal Poly though. Probably would have gotten some nice minutes at Oregon State had she chose the beavers out of high school. PaoPao was a huge steal for Oregon. A lot of schools probably backed off (including OSU) after two ACL tears in HS, but Oregon continued to recruit her (she committed when she was not top-60), and then she had a terrific AAU and HS Season and her stock rose. I believe it came down to UO and SDSU for her. I’ll be interested to see how the minutes work out for their guards, and who emerges and who potentially transfers.

Higgins, Ionescu, Moore, and Tudor played on the same AAU team. Higgins and Moore started their careers together at USC, but transferred to other schools as did Littleton after two years at Texas. Kayla Washington started at WSU, but transferred to UCSB after two seasons in Pullman. I don't believe she played again after transferring to UCSB. Odom went to Duke and was drafted by the New York Liberty along with Ionescu in the 2020 WNBA Draft. Odom is 6'2" and has been since high school. That listed height for her must be an error.

Whatever happened to the two power schools in Oregon High School basketball?... St. Mary's and Oregon City. I know coaching has a lot to do with it, but it sure seams these teams just disappeared compared to a few years back.

I think you hit it on the head. The right coach has a lot to do with it. Look at OSU WBB history.
Go Beavers !!
