Players that required postseason diagnostic procedures and surgeries have had to wait several months until elective procedures were permitted again.
Quite possible that other OSU WBB players may be going through their own tests and procedures now that elective procedures can be performed.
Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery for Kat!

I'm no doctor but having had a number of knee surgeries in my immediate family it's a scope to either shave, trim or polish cartilage or to remove some floating particles or bone chips. Any kind of "major" surgery and she's be in a thigh-to-ankle black brace.

I friend told me yesterday that she saw on social media what appeared to be a recent hand or wrist surgery for Jasmine Simmons. I checked some social media options and could not confirm. I remember that she played with a taped hand for much of the season. Other people may be better at finding her Tweet or post than I have been.

It has been confirmed with a photo. Simmons had a procedure on her right hand and her hand was shown in a soft cast. Her surgery was likely delayed by the recent ban on elective procedures. I am assuming that the surgery was performed in Corvallis.
If your shooting hand is in pain or at least sore when bumped, it would be very difficult to aggressively drive into and through contact, a hallmark of Simmons' game when she is most effective. That may explain why many of her minutes last season were less eventful than we would had expected following her success during the four games in Italy during the summer.
Would be interesting to know long her right hand was bothering her during the '19-'20 season.
Hopefully, the number of OSU WBB players with offseason surgeries is limited to Kat and Jasmine in 2020.

Could not edit the above post so: UPDATE: It’s her thumb, not her arm! Sending healing wishes to Jasmine Simmons after surgery to repair a torn tendon in her right thumb, which was injured during the season.

Well that would explain Jas' shooting difficulties this past season. Get well Jas, going to be a big season for you.

Sending healing wishes to Jasmine Simmons after surgery to repair a torn tendon in her right thumb, which was injured during the season. Better the thumb than the arm. However, the thumb is the most important digit. Maybe for players. For fans it's the middle finger for informing refs about their performance 😒
