OSU is reporting a commit from James DeCremer from Brophy Prep in Phoenix. I see he’s a HS Class of 2023. Whew, that’s a ways out. First appearance would be Fall ball in 3 years &4 months.

Oregon State is starting their 2023 class in the same way as 2022, by landing two touted pitching prospects early in the cycle. In 2022 it was Ian Ritchie and Tyler Gough, in 2023 it's Paul Wilson and J.D. DeCremer. With 13 commitments in hand for the 2021 class and 11 for the 2022 class, the Beavs are putting the finishing touches on those classes while the major focus now turns to summer recruiting for the 2023 group.
Paul Wilson has a pitchers frame at 6'3 and 183 pounds. Angular with fast arm action from the left side. A freshman at Lakeridge HS, Wilson already throws a 4-pitch mix, relying on a live fastball that tops out at 87 mph and a 77 mph slider. Perfect Game ranks Wilson #101 nationally and the top prospect in Oregon.
J.D. DeCremer has a wirey frame and some nice length at 15 years old at 6-1 and 187. Has a 3 pitch arsenal with an 86 mph fastball. Delivers from a 3/4 arm slot with an upright, drop and drive motion. Has a quality 11/5 curve ball with a tight wrap and depth that he throws for strikes. Attends Brophy Prep in Phoenix. Brophy has a rigorous academic profile with a selective admission policy. J.D. is no doubt a good student. DeCremer is ranked #231 nationally, #6 on the Arizona Top-40 by Perfect Game. Prep Baseball Report ranks him #8 in Arizona. One of the top 2 or 3 pitching prospects in Arizona in the class of '23.
