I remember when newspapers had to skinny down their Wednesday and Sunday papers to still be able to mail them at the newspaper rate. Too heavy and it was parcel post rate which would have hammered them.

Bought a subscription to the Salem paper, The Statesman Journal, a couple years back. I was disappointed that 85% of the articles were AP produced and could be found online easily (and free) enough. Also disappointed to find out that I had to contact someone in Georgia or the like to end the subscription.
Local ain’t local anymore.

We the people are in trouble. We live in the 'information age', but can't get any information without being bombarded with ads and click bait. Someone's gotta pay the writers, producers, and IT people.
