I wish we had more players with mixed success. Two time all Pac 12 in two years. You must really be bored

Destiny never said that she came here to be closer to her family. In fact, she specifically repudiated that "rumor". Destiny is a strong, self-reliant farm girl who has the self-confidence to make her own way in the world. She doesn't need our approval and she's not living in the shadow of any Beaver heroes of the past.

When you’re 20 years old, you rarely (in fact, Never) look at things through the eyes of someone who has lived 4 or 5 or 6 decades. The fact that Destiny Slocum chose OSU, sat for a full season as a cheerleader par excellence, and then played for 2 seasons, is worth a boatload in my book. With just 1 year of amateur BB remaining, her decision to move on is somewhere between “still a bit of wanderlust” and “brilliant”. I’m OK either way. Thanks Destiny!

There is more with the Destiny situation that will likely never be made public. For both Scott and Destiny it is best to move on.

Sparty is on to something, but to the credit of both Rueck and Slocum both parties handled the transfer as well as could be hoped after Slocum had entered the portal. Never a good thing for a program to lose a two-time all-conference selection with one year of eligibility still ahead of her. Slocum's departure leaves a massive hole at the point guard position that the combination of Goodman and Goforth can hopefully fill during '20-'21. Goodman will have the opportunity to show her leadership skills next season in Slocum's absence. If Goodman can match Slocum's production with averages of 15/5, break the press consistently, and initiate the offense without difficulty, then the Beavs should enjoy another quality season. That is asking a lot out of her.

There is more with the Destiny situation that will likely never be made public. For both Scott and Destiny it is best to move on. Best for us to move on as well. Doesn't really matter much why Destiny chose to leave; she did, it's done. It's not like this is a Lavonda situation, where they're bailing out en masse. In my opinion, even with Destiny but without Kennedy, this coming year's team probably wasn't going to fare much better than this year's. That's not a bad thing by any means, but, absent strong contributions from Mitrovic and Aquino, I don't see them having the depth to seriously compete for the conference championship. Without Destiny, it becomes much more remote. So, while I'm not writing off this coming season, I'm now looking more toward 2021 and beyond. Assuming Kennedy redshirts, we'll have 2 McDonald's All Americans as sophomores, 2 more (presumably) as freshmen, and solid upperclassmen in Jones, Corosdale, and Simmons. Our next real run to the top starts then. Do I wish Destiny were still here? Sure. I also wish Syd and Marie and several others were too. None of them are, but life goes on and the program moves forward. Destiny, like Syd and Marie before her, is history.

If you've got information you can tell, then tell it. If you've got information you can't or shouldn't tell, then just keep your mouth shut. I was privy to some "inside" information several years ago when a co-worker's son was a prominent player on the OSU baseball team, but I never, ever divulged the information I had to the board, and never thought to say "I know some juicy behind-the-scenes details, but I won't tell!" It just seems juvenile.

Every message board everywhere -
Anyone transferring in: WELCOME ABOARD!! What a great pick-up! Anyone transferring away: Lazy, self absorbed, actually not very good at sports. Not very good at school. Psst: Hearing about an ATTITUDE problem.

In every show the character Junior (Ted Lange) would make a dramatic entry into the barbershop and proclaim, “If I could tell what I could tell, OOOH what a story I could tell!”. The barbershop patrons would respond, “What is it Junior?” to which Junior would say: “I can’t tell”
