Unfortunately for Mr. Osmond he was so good at the role he got the Hollywood kiss of death and was typecast for that character. He had a hard time finding work and went to work as an LA cop. Got shot 5 times, 4 hit the vest, one went of the belt buckle and tore him up. Had to disability retire after 18 years. Folks say he was a real good guy.
