Saw Buddy Rose and a few other guys I recognized working out at Loprinzi's Gym on SE Division in 1988. I remember some guy that typically wore Nebraska gear benching 495 and an Indian (I think) dude squatting 800.

I flew back to PDX on a flight with Buddy Rose (of course he sat in 1st Class). This was a bit after he was done wrestling, and I was surprised how short he was. My dad used to know one of the Von Steiger brothers - guy worked for the city of Salem after his career was done. Before there was the WWF - there was Frank Bonnema and Portland Wrestling (and Friendly Joe Chevrolet, where all the cars came with "factory air conditioning"!).

I don't see any problem linking old You Tube sports videos. I do believe that "midget" is not considered polite nomenclature. I think the preferred is little people. |
